I vote PetersHave the Cowboys said if McGovern will be re-inserted as starter when he is healthy? That will be an interesting thing to watch, between him and Peters.
Don't know why people here think 40 year man should be a disability or old. If he is a man who has been playing football for a living all his life, not like he is your 40 year old father .? He has been playing still at a high level recently. Better than some twenty somethings. Gimme a break.
I hope it's not a rotation, continuity is very important on the OL. Peters should take that job, fulltime once he gets in game shape.
I think Peters is perfect playing alongside the young LT. Once Peters gets his game legs under him, he should start at LG.Have the Cowboys said if McGovern will be re-inserted as starter when he is healthy? That will be an interesting thing to watch, between him and Peters.
This offensive staff sees our o-linemen on a daily basis. I doubt they need us to tell them who to play, and where and when to do it.
Things are going along quite well, at this point in time. If it's not broken, let's not fix it . . .
LGBC im cool with that have packages for each. get them all snaps. i think by next week as you keep increasing peters snaps he can be 40 snap plyers then eagles the entire game )LG is unknown with regards to who will play the position in the next game.
Farniok has been better than McGovern was in his 4 starts in 2021, but that's not a high bar of achievement.
McGovern only played 8 snaps in game 1 which is not enough to evaluate him.
Peters played 2 series in the Giants game.
They've have practice squad player Lindstrom active for games. He would have been the top backup OC.
- McGovern likely takes the place of Lindstrom because McGovern did play some at OC in the preseason.
If Peters in not going to start, then it's McGovern vs Farniok at LG.
- I would stay with Farniok at this point over McGovern coming off the injury.
yup thats what im thinking until peters is ready for the entire game against the SHEegales..Irony )Don't be surprised a 3 man rotation. Farniok, Peters, McGovern.
They could line up McGovern as T eligible. Then motion him into the backfield as a FB. Or put him in at FB and motion him to TE.
Either way, extra blocker.
If he signed before game 1, it would have been a higher probability that he stayed healthy than the probability of Tyron staying healthy.Don't know why people here think 40 year man should be a disability or old. If McGovern made it well through this week’s practices, I feel certain he will be the starter at LG. I think they value Peters as the primary backup at all line positions except center. It will take more than 7 snaps in one game to consider Peters sufficiently ramped up.

Why can't Peter's hold up physically?
It seems unlikely that Peters would go from 22% to 100% of snaps in 1 week, especially a short week.
- Snaps played vs NYG
- Peters 14 (22%)
- Farniok 50 (78%)
The question is more likely who will start at LG between Farniok and McGovern.
Based on my game footage reviews, Farniok in 2022 has been better than McGovern in 4 starts for the 2021 season.
- Farniok has made plenty of mistakes, but physically he has looked reasonably good.
- McGovern during his 4 starts in 2021 was getting whipped both by speed & power.
The other issue is that big players that are not with a team in the off-season tend to get significantly out of shape.
- Tyler Smith looked like a runt next to Peters. Like Manute Bol next to Shaq.
- Tyler Smith weighed 324 at the combine.
- I would bet money that Peters was over 350 when signed and I wouldn't be surprised if he was 380.
Really we are taking about a hall of famer and 9 time pro bowl player here. Age means nothing to this guy. Did he hold up last year with the Bears?
