I also was in the 11-12 range also before week 1. After Dak's injury I have to admit that I thought they would falter to 7-8 wins. After the Bengals game though I could tell that this team was still going to pull off 10 + wins even with Coop. I think my favorite part of this years team is they have proven they can fight through adversity.
I'll add that after the Dak injury, i stood in here and said that the Cowboys could still beat the Bengals and the Rams and they did.

IIRC I thought they would be 10-11 wins before Dak and all the other starters on offense were out. After week 1 I did not have much faith for 8+ wins.

After Dak's injury, I had lost hope of getting to the playoffs. I figured it would take a few more losses after he came back to get the rust knocked off. Boy was I wrong. They have exceeded my expectations by a large margin.

They have definitely surpassed my expectations this season. I thought they would maybe be a game over.500 and out of the playoffs when the season began. I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least!

I didn't know what to expect. Big changes, and questions on the o-line and WR group felt like a step back. I expected the defense to improve over last year.

The O-line, and WR group including TE's answered the bell in a big way. As the season progressed it seemed to me that this team was tight, and were playing for each other. I posted here that I thought this team had as good a chance to go all the way as had any team since 1995.

Now, as the season winds down, the defense is wounded and showing some warts. The offense is alternating between unstoppable and can't get out of their own way.

So now.... I'm back to not knowing what to expect.

I took the over 10 wins at beginning of season. They are right about where I thought. Probably a little ahead.

Before the season begins there is usually a prediction thread. Many posters of this site predict the amount of wins the Cowboys will end up with. A vast majority are usually under 9 wins every year. So I ask:

Have the Cowboys surpassed the amount of wins you predicted?

What have they done that has surprised you this season? Is there a certain aspect of their game that has been better or worse then you thought?

If the Cowboys have surpassed your win predictions what is it that upsets and excites you?

I ask these questions because as I scroll through threads on this page I can't help but realize that some posters are still fairly negative about the Cowboys. I understand the narrative that they haven't won a SB in 25 years and it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. It really is frustrating I agree.

However - even after Superbowl less 25 years I would imagine predicting 8 wins and then having the team reach 11, 12 or maybe even 13 wins has to make you excited more then you were at the beginning of the season?

Nope, this debate won't be settled until after the playoffs... we've had some damn good teams over the years but found a way of laying a big goose egg when it mattered most..I'm enjoying the season but my excitement is tempered at best.

I had them at 11-4 at this point. Only losing to the Bucs, Eagles, Packers and Jaguars.

Nope... did what I expected. The thing I am surprised with is our pass rush. Losing Gregory I didnt think we had any chance of actually having a better pass rush. The offense has done what I expected them to do. We had weapons and had one of the best scoring offenses in the league last year. Why would anyone think that was going to change this year?

Maher..... we had him before and he wasnt this good. That is a surprise. The guy has been money and he can kick 60 yarders and make me think this is definitely going through the uprights.

I thought 8 or 9 wins after the offseason. I am pleasantly surprised they have exceeded my expectations by a lot.

Other opinions I missed on:

The NFC would be so bad overall. The NFC East would be the best division in the NFC. But in retrospect, I felt the Eagles and Giants would both be improved over last year.

Wins and losses don't matter to me.
MUST MAKE THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, DON'T NEED TO WIN.
