Have the first 4 weeks' game plans been a calculated risk by BP?

This may be a silly notion, but any chance Parcells has played it close to the vest during the first 4 weeks with the preconceived notion that we would likely start 2-2 regardless of our gameplan? Any chance he felt confident enough he would beat Washington and the 49ers and therefore played it conservative in order to "not show" anything to the Eagles? Assuming we're coming into an early season crucial stretch with back to back divisional home games this may be what he's been holding back the playbook for. I'm interested in reading your opinions but I would not be surprised at all to see a completely different philosophy on the playing field come Sunday. This is after all our first crack at the Eagles with our new defensive scheme, perhaps Ware will be moving around some, perhaps Burnett will get invovlved, perhaps we will be much more aggressive. Like him or hate him, Parcells has always been a coach with a "master plan" he takes a global view and is the ultimate control freak/micromanager. I would not at all be surprised if he felt confident we would start 2-2 (albeit winning and losing different games than anticipated) and then take it to the Eagles in surprising fashion. A win against the Eagles would give this team much more confidence and momentum than going 3-1 and then losing to the Eagles.

i am sure there are some surprises bp has for the eagles, but I dont think he intentionally held back risking any losses, i think bp is too conservative for that.

did you miss the "IS BP Holding Back - Waiting for Philly" Thread.

If this were true, he should be fired immediately

Unbelievably, I did miss it. As soon as I posted my thread I saw the other thread. Not such a radical idea I guess...

Richmond, don't feel bad I just posted a similar thread. It seems some of us are on the same thought prcess. It may not be anything, but I just can't believe BP is not opening up the play book without a reason. Unlike some posters who believe BP has lost it.

This might have flown in the preseason but this is the regular season where every game counts. In fact, I'd be more inclined to say Purcells has lost it if your theory was correct.

We shall see Sunday. I expect props if we open up with a much more aggressive gameplan.

I don't belive Parcells held anything back in fact I believe he did this exactly by his design.

In both losses we had the ball deep into the other teams territory. Its not as if we are getting "BLOWN OUT" here.....

Big question here is - does Parcells open it up? He almost has to - jmo

Richmond, this makes at least three of us wondering the same thing. Maybe there is something to it.
