I believe that is why we haven't made any jumps during free agency. We might not see anything happen with these guys until the draft. Don't know if they have any bonuses coming that would expedite things, but I think its fairly obvious that they don't remain on our team at least not for their current cap hit.

Anthony Henry was traded away immediately. We had to work something out. We saw the ability to get that backup QB.

Already know we are trying to trade Williams. And I guarantee you we're trying to trade Ellis.

We're probably not going to do anything at those positions until we've addressed them.

You are probably right about that. I really dont see us doing much in free agency at all, the players on the open market are not really stars or anything, but they are getting paid like it.

I would much rather stay out of overpaying for average players and concentrate mainly on the draft. With 9 picks and a couple of compensatory picks, we should be able to fill most of our holes.

Why don't we just play Ellis at DE and Spencer at OLB?

I dont think Ellis has the size to play DE in a 3-4.

I think that is why Parcells moved him to OLB, it was either that or be released/traded. At least that is what I remember.

.

I wouldnt be shocked if they traded Ellis, but its far from a "guarantee" that we are trying to do so. Especially with Spencer getting into a little trouble and not taking the next step last yr as we all thought he would.

Regardless of how much you hate on the guy, replacing 8-10-12 sacks a yr and the kind of pressure/attention he gets isnt a piece of cake.

I could see them trying to trade them. I'm just not sure they're going to get it done or get anything for them even if they do.

Maybe they could get them traded to Miami for a 4th or 5th rounder but even that would surprise me.

Once Ware is signed I think other things will start trickling down.

But we can't do much until he has his contract.

I like Ellis and think he still brings game.
His contract is reasonable for his production.
I would be disappointed if her were traded.

Ellis pressures the QB. There simply are not enough guys in this league that can do that. He isn't going anywhere.

For me it would depend on who we would be trading for. While I agree that the odds are Ellis will be back with us I would not rule out a trade or be against it depending on what we were getting in return. I can't say yes or no unless I know who it would be.

I think Dallas has given Miami enough players.

Ellis, Roy, Crayton and Carpenter to Carolina for Peppers. Panthers get 4 who will start for one guy who doesn't want to be there.

Jerah has said, several times, that a players value is at it's lowest during the draft. If Jerah's going to get make a move, it's going to get done soon.

If only ..... heck, I'll dream too, throw in a 2010 pick to seal this deal in blood.

I don't think Carpenter gets traded at this point, but many other vets who don't produce to the level paid are probably trade bait....and some outright cuts.

Guys who are on this list -- Flozell Adams, Greg Ellis, safety Roy Williams.

And FA left not worth signing for the money -- Kevin Burnett and Tank Johnson. Actually I would let any FA walk. Trade or cut these guys for salary cap space to sign Ware and draft picks.

Dallas is 9-7 three out of the past four years. We are not one or two players away...we need to change the chemistry and leadership on this team. The current veteran players do not know how to win when it counts. Only two players would be untouchable -- Ware & Witten.

i gotz some madden skillz right hurr!
Check it.

Trade Roy, Ellis, and a 5-6-or 7 rounder for Peppers.
Restructure his contract.

We find a replacement for Ellis and we get rid of Biscuit.

Woot!
