Have we been too hard on Romo? Maybe just a little?

Russell Wilson has been over 100 passer rating twice in two years. Romo has done it once.

Give me a break. Wilson has 800 pass attempts the last 2 years, Romo has 1185. You don't think throwing 200 more times a year is going to affect his QB rating?

Plus Romo has hit 97 3 times and 95 twice, despite playing behind some awful OLs during his career, so its not like 100 is some far off magical number he's never come close to.

What the hell are you talking about? In what world did our Defense play "lights out" in that game? They were awful.
Perhaps he is talking about the game where Alfred Morris rushed for almost 200 yards. You do know that is lights out defense....right? I think that is the same game where DeMarcus (he gets no blame) Ware looked like a blindfolded kid at a birthday party trying to hit a pinata. I lost count how many times they ran the QB read run option at him and he hugged the air.

I don't know if you bothered to pay attention to the game last night, but Wilson was running for his life the entire night. He was just mobile enough to escape. This is just another excuse to use to prop up someone that needs to just go away. I can't even imagine Romo on that stage last night. He doesn't belong anywhere near a Super Bowl.

He actually has that Romo spin move down. lol

Romo had a 102.5 in 2011....with well over 500 attempts.
Pretty astounding, actually.

I'm pretty sure Seattle would much rather have Wilson. Wilson has 0 picks this postseason. He does not force the ball like Romo does.

Romo finds a way to lose both the Saints and Niners games because that's what he does.

Romo had a great team around him in 2007. The most complete team we have had since the 90s and that led to nothing.

But keep the excuse train flowing.

does Wilson have Cowboy's Oline? of course Romo does

I wonder how good Wilson would look playing with the offensive cast Romo has...

Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Demarco Murray, a top 5 OL...

His best target in Seattle is....... Doug Baldwin?

4. Dallas Cowboys (22nd)PB: 9th, RB: 2nd, PEN: 24th

Stud: They got good play out of both tackles butTyron Smith (+28.3)was the pick of the bunch. The 23-year-old is already one of the best left tackles in a league filled with good ones.

Dud: No player earned a lower grade than Ronald Leary (-9.4). The former undrafted free agent was largely decent but had a tricky middle spell to his season where he gave too much ground in pass protection.

Analysis: When things go wrong in Dallas they get magnified. But the truth is their line was a pleasant surprise as they opened up some big holes for DeMarco Murray and gave Tony Romo ample time to work with. While the tackles were the stars of the show but Travis Frederick came in and really added something to the run game.

Don't you hate it when facts get in the way of an agenda and excuse making...

WTH is "Pro Football Focus?" Why is their word "fact?"

We had one of the worst lines in the league last year, added a rookie center and not much else and suddenly we're top 5? Yeah, no, not buying.

BTW they also have the Denver OL listed as #1. Didn't seem to help help Manning much, he was getting crushed all night..

Dallas was arguably a top 5 OL in the league this year. Definitely within top 10.

Yeah, we had a putrid OL in 2012, but the beginning of 2013 saw an entirely new interior line. So 3/5s of the starters were overhauled. Tyron had more experience under his belt at LT which allowed the Cowboys to put him on "Tyron Island" and help Free more. And the combination lack of job security and just flat out getting healthy caused Big Mack to actually be better than Waters.

But most importantly, they had another year in Callahan's ZBS.

It's not incredibly hard to imagine why they improved significantly.

But I'll let Ryan Pickett reiterate just in case:

“Oh, my God,” defensive tackle tackle Ryan Pickett said, via Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “It’s the best zone scheme in the league. They say it’s old, the Wisconsin scheme.

“The last four weeks, nobody could stop it — their zone scheme. And they gave up on it. We’re just happy they did. We were, like, ‘OK, we’ll take it.’”

Everyone already knows this but this years playoffs just reinforced what we already knew and that is the fact that without a great O line you really don't give your QB much of a chance. Last night the great Peyton Manning got a chance to see what Romo see's week in and week out. I think Romo is just about done and looking back think maybe I may have misjudged him a little. He's played behind crap his entire career and relied on his legs to buy time. He's been hit so much that his body is breaking down. This is not a Pro Romo thread either. I have never been real big on him but after seeing some great QB's who regularly play in a clean pocket go down in flames, I thought about Romo and his leaky front. Just thinking out loud and not trying to start another Romo debate.....

There is probably some truth to this.

Part of it is the overselling of the team as a contender when truly..they have not been.

Next has been the revolving door of HCs and assistants at VR.

I'm going to be watching with great interest how Linehan makes changes and what results.

If Garrett isn't very careful, he just may have signed his own replacement for HC\OC with Linehan as play caller.

"Nope, Peyton's a choker like Romo. We all know that last night's game was merely a product of Russell Wilson being far superior to Peyton. It's a passing league so it makes sense to put a win or loss all on the QB, even though they spend more than half the game on the bench in the ultimate team sport."

If Dallas would have been in that game last night, Romo would have been in a body bag by the end of the first Quarter..

i don't think so. manning wasn't moving at all. romo makes a nifty sidestep or spin to get away from a lot of that pressure and give his receivers another second or two.

Remind me, genius, of the last time Tony Romo lost to the 49ers. Stupid post is stupid.

Im sorry when did Romo lose to the 49ers? I only recall the last tinge they played Romo had puncture lung and broken ribs and lead the Boys to OT win at candlestick

There is only one standard around here to judge Romo by:

what last night real for and is jordan not going to win big game is
I agree....but Seattle would have won last night without their offense scoring a single point. Now you tell me before the game the offense does not have to score...and I will craft a gameplan that will assure you the offense will not turn the ball over.

Granted Seattle's D was outstanding last night but no way does Denver suffer the complete beat down they did had their offense played decently. They entered the game with an offense and QB that set several NFL records in 2013 and they couldn't even gain a first down until the second quarter. They couldn't generate any offense while the game was still in the balance due to several poor throws by Manning who took his usual crap in the SB. The Broncos had 5 turnovers including a bad snap on their very first play that cost them points. There was no excuse for a performance like that from a team that won 13 games and was competing in the SB.
