I met Hershel at a restaurant in Dallas, met bob lily years ago. Amazing guy.

Saw Dak Prescott stepping into a Whataburger. After a few minutes he made his way towards me and as he did I patted him on the back as he walked by.

He turned, gave me his famous grin and continued on his way.

He spent the whole time after not realizing that I patted a piece of tape on his back that said, ‘2-5’.

I used to have some of them come down and hold camps at my HS. 3 years....had them over to my home for a BBQ one year. Randy White, George Teague, Everson Walls, Larry Brown, Eric Williams, Solomon Page and several none Cowboys....all great experiences. Randy and I had some great private conversations in my office. Can't really say much about them, he didn't speak well about some of the studs....met Irvin in San Antonio. He was cool to my staff, talked to Jerry for about half hour at a camp, sat at a table with 4 coaches In San Angelo for about 2 hours, drank beer and talked football with Wade, Tuberville, Mack Brown and Nick Saban. Talked one on one about offensive play with Garrett, he sucks!!!! Several more, but that's all the Cowboys I can remember. Oh wait, met Drew Pearson and John Dutton at a basketball game, then drank a pitcher of beer with Dutton on South Padre Island about 10 years later

We have a winner folks! I think you have everyone beat sir. It must have been (still is?) cool to meet all of those greats and not-so-greats.

I was and still am fortunate to have met these guys. Still talk to some of them from time to time. Held a free camp for about 160 kids 2 years ago, had 4 guys come down and help out. None were Cowboys, though. Salud!

I met Jerry Jones at Pat O Briens Piano Bar in New Orleans in 2003. We were there for the Cowboys - Saints game the following day. Jones was very cool. Took a bunch of pictures with fans and seemed to love all of the attention he was getting. Stephen was with him and he was cool as well. Larry Lacewell, not so much.

I passed Emmitt Smith in an airport about 9 years ago, then stood about 10 feet from him at the airport map. Didn't approach him or try to speak to him though.

A friend of mine went to see the Cowboys and Titans in Nashville. After the game, he was standing out by the Cowboys bus hoping to get a glimpse of some of the players. He was wearing a Jason Witten jersey and also had on a Tennessee Vols button. Jason Witten saw him and came off of the bus to sign some things for him and take pictures with him.

I'm trying to remember this I think there was more than one but Charles Haley I fixed his heat/AC twice in Dallas.. I'm an HVAC contractor and this was probably 10 years ago but I kept his check I'll have to dig that out I mean it's a good way to get his signature is keep a copy of the check lmao

He seemed pretty cool I mean almost as expected he's not a big talker or show a lot of emotion but I told him I was a big fan and he seemed cool with that..

But now he wasn't AH, he was just normal...


I thought it was funny though when he I was setting up the call and he I asked their full name and address and what not when he said Charles Haley I literally paused for a second I said you mean the Charles Haley that played for the Dallas Cowboys,

I can't remember if I've met others I know I have but I just can't remember off hand but this was more personal because I literally went to his house got a check from him and you know did something for him so it wasn't just meeting him at a place where they're supposed to sign things..

Met Emmitt Smith buying shoes in Kenneth Cole at the Galleria in Dallas.

Didn't realize it was him until I noticed his massive diamond encrusted watch. Chatted for a few minutes while we tried on shoes. Lovely guy.
Shook his hand and didn't ask for a selfie.

My nephew just graduated from A&M A year ago but not last spring but the spring before, I believe I mean it could have been two years ago, whenever Emmitt Smith's son was being onboarded you know they were getting his room right and everything. My nephew met Emmett Smith literally got a picture with him and said Emmitt was pretty damn cool...

emmitt came to give a speech here in abq right around 91. shook his hand asked him to sign my card he asked for $25 which of course i didn’t have (i was around 13) and i asked why and he said i don’t know who you’re getting this for. the speech was given and they raffled off a signed jersey and the kid that won of course was wearing a jersey. i was bummed but he still is my all time favorite player.

Wow, not cool. And by that I mean what kind of allowance did your parents give you that you didn't have $25 in your pocket as a 13 year old? Travesty!

Cool story, back in the 90's I was at blockbuster with my girlfriend and noticed a guy that looked very very familiar but I couldn't put my finger on who it was.. I walked up to him and asked "who are you, I know you".. He said, with a big smile I'm Daren Woodsen. We proceeded to chat, and he was one of the best spirited and friendliest people I've ever met. Such a nice guy, I was surprised how gracious he was..

Just messin'. Emmitt's my GOAT Cowboys player of all time but there's some mixed bag stories in here about him. I guess I get where he was coming from but he could have signed something for a kid who looked up to him. Would have made your universe I'm sure.

On the other hand, I sat at a table watching college football with Randy Gregory for 5 house along with Duke Manyweather. Randy was damn cool to us. My daughter bought him a shot....lol. He was very stand offish at first(understandably) but after a bit, he loosened up and was pretty damn nice to us. Shared his experience at Nebraska, said he liked college better than pro.

I played college ball against DeMarcus Ware.

I met Jerry Jones and Emmitt Smith at the Georgia Dome before the Cowboys/Falcons game in 2001 and got my game program signed. The same day, I met Quincy Carter's family and I met George Teague's brother.

I'm Facebook friends with several ex-Cowboys as well.

Back in Feb of 93 I played blackjack with Charles Haley in Tahoe for a while. I was already happy as I had won $1,500 from them winning the superbowl weeks before (Got 15-1 odds for that one). Really nice guy, which kinda surprised me because of the wild stories I had heard about him during this time frame. Thanked him for helping me win that $1,500...lol

Tony Dorsett was a friend of Bruce Bennett, a local Nisan dealer owner here in CT. I bought a used car there once, because it came with free oil changes for life. Tony did autograph signings there all of the time. Being that this was CT, not Texas (I was the only Cowboys fan in town...lol) and I was there all of the time, he actually remembered me when I would see him there.

I bought a used 2014 Heritage softail classic from Gennaro DiNapoli, backup offensive lineman from the Parcells years. Nice guy, weird thing was he had just had surgery for a nerve in his neck. When I shook this huge guys hand he wince and said don't grip me so hard, I just had surgery...lol.

Also I had forgotten, I saw Mike Ditka at an airport in Hartford, CT. During his ESPN days. People were coming up to him, it seemed like he was just being nice, but would have preferred to be alone. I thought about leaving him be, but just couldn't shake this one opportunity. I walked up quickly and said to him..."Can I shake the hand of a man who shook Tom Landry's hand?"

He then broke out a great smile and said it would be his pleasure. Really nice guy, I felt like chatting more, but just walked away and let him be.
