Too many times.
Any other player would have been cut years ago if their failures cost the Cowboys playoff games. DeMarco Murray fumbled vs Green Bay on what should have been a touchdown that broke the Packers back in 2014, and was let go the following year.
Almost every year the kicker becomes the scapegoat. Wade Phillips was fired for bad defense-although Jason Garrett's offense was the real culprit.
And it goes on.
Dak Prescott throws two picks last year vs the Packers; one a pick-six and gave the Packers 14 points in the first half. In 2020 he choked away the Division title, needing to win one game out of 4, and he disappeared in each of those games; even throwing the ball into the ground with Ezekiel Elliott wide open.
He had to be bailed out two years ago by Cooper Rush after he shut down vs the Buccaneers in the opening game, and was sketchy at best when he returned, giving Aaron Rodgers Packers two touchdowns that helped Rodgers lead the Packers to a win.
Yet still some here want him back, and at a cap busting salary, no less.
He is no different from any other player who holds the team back; he needs to be let go!
Why should Dallas give him another chance when anyone else who so clearly has cost the team would have been replaced before the next season?

Jerry has been failing as a GM for 28 years, but some here want him back.

McCarthy has failed for 4 straight years, 6 if you count his last 2 in Green Bay, but there are also some here that want him back.

People choose their villains, especially when they have built their fandom around Jerry and not the team, Lots and lots of scapegoats.

Dak is getting that extension because he is ultimate scapegoat for the Jones 29 straight years of failure.

Jerry Jones was re-signing DeMarco Murray but he decided to leave (link).

Jones was determined to not allow the team go 1-15. The exact same players who QUIT on Wade Phillips played better under Jason Garrett. It is highly likely Mike McCarthy would have been pink slipped if he had lost the team at midseason in similar fashion instead of the team waiting to quit on him in the first half of the Green Bay Packers playoff game.

Jones does not see quarterbacks like you do. He never has.

Jones makes the roster decisions in Dallas. You should consider the previous paragraph each time you have the itch of starting a Prescott thread.

Jones does see quarterbacks very differently from me. The fact that he thinks Dak is better than Troy Aikman tells you all you need to know about his talent evaluation skills.

Okay. So you understand why he--you know--the guy who signs the paper checks--disagrees with your opinions, yes?

No I don't understand why.
I recognize that he makes different decisions than I would, but I don't understand why.
He must be senile. No serious person would ever say things like Dak is better than Troy Aikman.
He may have the money that lets him make the decisions, but that doesn't make them right.

For what it is worth, Jones is not senile either.

Your threads have failed too many times. Give it up!
And the Cowboys keep failing.
According to some of you, Dak Prescott was the guy that was gonna take the Cowboys to greatness;
Yet again last season we sat through yet another playoff game in which Dak's ineptness is the reason the Cowboys went home early.
This last one was the worst! He spotted Green Bay 14 points in the first half.
Yet some of you still cling to him like a wet diaper.
