I guess having two good RB's is a good problem to have, but taking Murray out on 3rd downs bothered me.

I would like to see Murray in on all three downs, no matter what the situation.

After watcing what Murray is capable of, I would like to get back to a one back offense and get away from the latest NFL fad of situational backs.

And then bring Felix in to give Murray a rest if he needs it. Or bring Felix in every 3 or 4 series and leave him in for 5 or 6 straight plays.

Or even have formations with both in the backfield.

Top backs seem to be at their best when they get to stay in, get several carries, and get in a rhythm.

Agreed. I don't like Murray being on the sidelines in important situations.

Don Perkins & Amos Marsh/Dan Reeves
Calvin Hill & Walt Garrison/Duane Thomas
Tony Dorsett & Robert Newhouse/Herschel Walker

Emmitt Smith &... well that's all we needed.

We've had this "problem" before. :D :starspin

totally agree. he was a great pick that i was wrong about following his selection(i wanted Moffet or rackley)

I absolutley hate when they give a guy a few carries and if he doesnt have that 20+ yard run they start rotating them . I wonder how many times barry sanders would get pulled in today's game because he had a 8 carry 21 yard 1st quarter? would they give him a chance to get that 80 yarder? in todays game? still think he would be great but...

Having 2 RBs is good.

Having 1 RB and 1 FB is even better.

Two would be nice, but I'm just grateful for the one we have in Murray.

Well that is sort of my point. Both are good, but Murray is better so he should be in on every down, .. except when Felix gives him a rest.

Not every 3rd down.

Don't get me wrong, .. I do like Felix and feel he can make plays, and of course is capable of going the distance.

But after watching Murray, I think he is the real deal and should get the chance to get lathered up and wear defenses down.

If he can stay healthy, he will change Romo and this entire offense, .. he already has.

Now that Felix is back we are going to learn that he is as good a back as Murray is. Murray was the beneficiary of much better blocking. I didn't see Murray doing much against the Skins which is the very same team that Felix burned for 115 yards on 14 carries earlier this year in a game in which Romo was off and the WRs were totally ineffective.

Now Murray got 73 yards on 25 carries.

The difference was the blocking. If Felix gets as good a blocking as Murray had he will put up gigantic numbers too.

I think both backs are very good and should be used up to the optimum. I want the backs to touch the ball 35 times per game between runs and catches to maximize this offense. That is too big of a load for any one back to handle without getting worn out.

I'd ideally like to see Murray get maybe 15-20 touches, Felix 8-15 touches and then the scraps to Tanner. This is the way Garrett has it mapped out in his head, too. He just didn't want Felix to knock the rust off against the Skins.

We have about 1.5 years to figure out how to use this duo before Felix leaves in FA. I think they are going to be a great combo that we can ride to success. We just need to get the Center position fixed.
