They held Fred taylor to 76 yards on 20 carries

Vick and Dunn combined for 97 on 24 carries in atlanta

Held the Cards to 90 yards total for the team on 21 carries

Held Portis to 90 yards on 25 carries

Held Steven Jackson to 77 yards on 17 carries

Held the Texans to 67 yards on 22 carries. WHich includes Davis's 40 yards on 18 carries.

I've seen threads downplaying the Hawks run D but The Hawks have yet to give up 100yards to any one player this year. Don't assume that just if JJ plays we or he is assured 100 yards or it will take pressure off Drew B. Most teams have had a field day passing against them but their run D is stout.

I don't think we'll see JJ - i think MB will get the majority of carries this week. but our passing game is whats winning games for us, and nobody should argue with that. this will be a game that should be close - but i feel we're due for another big 30 point game, and another strong defensive showing. 30-24 sounds bout right...

JJ ran wild on them last year and their D is almost the same except for a smaller quicker LB and a missing saftey. I think we will run well on them allowing Bledsoe to use play action to Glenn.

I think with our patched OL Seattle with try to blitz quite a bit. Screen play to MBIII will be a play that should get alot of attention in practice this week.

Keep in mind that these numbers may be scewed some because other teams are airing it out to keep pace on the score board...

The 3.9 average is the key stat. BP will run...that we know.

76 yds 20 carries isnt bad, but taylor was also banged up at the time.
24 carries for 97 yards is above 4 ypc.
90 yards 25 carries again isnt bad.
77 yards on 17 carries is ok for jackson, most of his big plays have been catches.
Texans have the worst o-line possibly in NFL history, i wouldnt blame davis, or the seahawks run D for their bad showing. Top this off with them having a bad pass D and hamlin out I think we will be pretty successful offensively. If we get 25+ carries, i wouldnt be surprised at all to see 100 yards. I think were going to be using the run to open up the pass for the most part.

<<<JJ ran wild on them last year and their D is almost the same except for a smaller quicker LB and a missing saftey..>>>

That'd be like me saying Drew Bledsoe is the same peice of crap that he was with Buffalo last year.

We have:
2 new DEs (Wistrom was injured against you guys last year IIRC, and Fischer is new. Bryce is a push with Okeafor (though with Drew "The Monolith" Bledsoe in Fischer might be able to chase down a QB for once... most flee from Bryce, it's a matchup I like) but having Wistrom back is huge.
3 new LBs. Yeah. All three. And all three are major upgrades over the crud we had last year. Sharper >>>>>>> Kaz, Lofa is a solid contestant for DROTY, and DD Lewis/Leroy Hill (our blitzer) combine for a major upgrade.
A way different DT. We have one new DT (Chuck Darby, who can be stopped with double teams but 1 on 1 he'll decimate your run game) and the other, Marcus Tubbs (who got injured agains you guys) is a totally different player. Tubbs will get your double teams, leaving everyone else to make plays. We also have a pair of pass-rushing DTs, Craig Terrill and Rocky Bernard, who have combined for something like 7 sacks this year. When they come in so far teams have been double-teaming Wistrom, leaving big plays for these guys.

Basically our front 7 don't even resemble last years. We have a new SS (I don't believe he was starting last year, Michael Boulware, was 2nd in DROTY voting IIRC after snagging 5 interceptions, incuding 2 game-savers and 1 game-winner), and new FS (the only area in which we have gotten worse) and a new CB, who can't tackle as well, but is a good cover-corner. And Trufant should get dominated by Keyshawn Johnson, simply because Tru has really struggled with coverage this year, especially jump balls/lobs. Expect our new FS, Manuel, to hang with you alot.

The defense you played last year has more in common with the Arizona Cardinals (2 defensive starters over there) than this defense. And every position is either the same, or improved, with the exception of Manuel, our backup turned starter.

The backup DT, Bernard, has 4.5 sacks. That is pretty impressive. It's a good thing the strength in our OL is up the middle with Allen/Johnon/Rivera.

They probably haven't given up a 100 yards to any one player cuz teams have had to abandon the run early against them to try and catch up. They ARE averaging 28 points a game.
