All I could think about was the Tommy Kelly deal the Raiders signed last year which is why Canty is not signed with us now. Now this. I think we may pay for not getting the deal done with Ware. 30 mill seemed the max for Ware but now, could go to mid to high 30s. Even 40 if they see themselves as valuable as Fat Albert. Thank god we have Newman under contract extension. Imagine what his agent would do to us with DeAngelo Hall's contract?

Newman will still end up costing us more on a per game basis.

Ware will be the highest paid defensive player in the league.

I know I expected a deal of 100M plus.

At least we have a quality player here with great character that deserves that kind of money, not some unstable individual like Haynesworth.

I agree 100%. Haynesworth also has a tendency to get fat, and the "B" word was used on him quite a bit his first couple of seasons or so.

He only became the proverbial "beast" the last two years. But I wouldn't expect the average fan to really notice the rest of his career, which was solid no question, but laced with instability and character issues. He is the classic boom or bust. If he continues to boom, then we should all soil our didies. If he holds true to the unpredictable character he has shown, we will be laughing at Daniel Snyder, again, in a few years.

He's a good player, but I'm honestly not that worried about him.

Gurode is an outstanding C and is big enough to handle him (and did easily the last time we played them)...Davis isnt going to struggle with him either.

Now if we have to run Cory Proctor out there at LG again, there might be some issues. I figure the chances of him getting any meaningful PT next yr though are slim and none.Even though he got a nice tender offer, I still dont think he's a lock to even be on the roster.

This does nothing really cause Ware was always going to get a deal in this range. They were waiting for the deal for Harrison anyway just to see exactly where they needed to put the numbers.
