Been back on for 2-3 episodes now.

So far it has been pretty good.

I wasn't going to watch it but Vorenus and Pullo pulled me back in. :D

Agreed.

When he started smashing that idol and than said he was a son of hades...ranting and raving and than just stopped and looked that guy and calmly asked if he would follow him.

That was great.:laugh2:

Rome is a Great show.

Can't wait to see what Vorenus does tonight after he finds out his kids are alive.

Also can't wait to see what Atia does to Servilia

I love Rome since I am an arm chair Ancient Roman history nut...plus it looks amazing in HD.

The first episode was great and I have enjoyed the other 2, but I don't like how rushed it feels.

I guess trying to fit 3 seasons worth of material into 10 final episodes does that.

I hadn't heard that HBO was cancelling Rome. They are seriously messing up. With them ending so many shows I think they are going to run off some loyal viewers.

The Sopranos - soon to be gone
The Wire - only one more season
Deadwood - soon to be gone
Rome - soon to be gone

The only series they haven't cancelled that I even care to watch is Entourage. They better have a good plan to replace those shows.

Oh yeah, I spend some time on the HBO forums and you get alot production news as well as the actors stopping by.

The BBC co-funded the show and decided to pull out after the 2nd season. HBO, who is swimming in red ink right now decided that a $100 million a season show was too much (I can understand that). But why start a show that you know is going to be very costly and will not be a mainstream mega hit like the Sopranos if you only plan on a 22 episode run when the writers mapped out 4 seasons?

The good thing is that the creators knew it was the final season before it went into production so there will be no cliff hanger or anything.

HBO also cut down the order from 12 eps to 10 to save money and asked that no big sets be created and that they should use what they already have as much as possible.

They did add the one new set of the College or whatever it is called where Pullo and Vorenus and the other gangs hung out, but that is all I have noticed so far.

As for HBO, they can kiss my *** alone for what they did to DEADWOOD. I am glad that they are producing the DEADWOOD HBO movies this summer, but I wanted that final full season they promised.

Yet, they let the Sopranos drag out longer and longer when it is way past its prime...

I am cancelling HBO after the final season of The Sopranos and only getting it again when the DEADWOOD movies air, then I am heading over to Showtime...I can still see the HBO boxing and Entourage at my friend's houses.

Agreed...Weeds and Dexter are great shows.

Other than that it is pretty hum drum as far as the shows go.

It is sad that HBO is cutting cost so much...I know they have to do something to cut the red ink but getting rid of Deadwood and Rome leaves only Entourage as the only show I watch.:(
