The playoffs are hours away from starting and the Cowboys will expend their absence from seeing another Superbowl to 24 years.

The drama of Jerry Jones is always going. I have been saying for 2 decades that the Cowboys will NOT see another Superbowl until Al Davis joins Al Davis. Jerry is too filled with pride/ego to see he IS the reason why this drought continues. He is determined that he can win a Superbowl POST Jimmy Johnson and damned if anyone is going to tell him differently.

When or if Garrett is replaced, their has been reports and rants from fans to get an offensive minded coach to further develop Dak Prescott but lets look @ the defense:

The Dallas defense didn't handle success of the 2018 season. Many things have been a decade long problem with the Dallas defense--ironically under Garrett.
(1) One of the biggest is lack of turnover ---especially producing INTs. Dallas was tied for DEAD last in INTs and a few season ago, the was DEAD last in this same category. Why can other franchise get INTs frequently but Dallas continued struggle?
Fans have wanted to trade away a 1st round pick for Jamal Adams and I would LOVE for him to be a Cowboy but lets look alittle deeper.
Dallas has a large amount of free agents to sign/unrestricted ones also. Yes, the Cowboys also have a large amount of cap space which will be soaked up my Prescott, Cooper(if you want to keep him), Byron Jones(which will be hard to replace him), Quinn, and sprinkle is a few others. Which will leave the Cowboys with many holes to fill. Trade away draft picks to get Adams is an option but you have to give away more than a 1st round pick. Now, you will always to pay the guy which will hard with money going to keep your own guys.
My guess, Dallas will trade down in the draft, maybe twice to get MORE picks to fill in their roster after players leave.
(2) Poor tackling. Instead of wrapping up, players want to lower the boom.
(3) Dallas defense scheme is easy to figure out. Against subpar teams, the defense can hold it's own but
vs. above average QBs, they carve up the Cowboys. You hear it often that good QBs like Rodgers, Wilson, Brees say Dallas defense isn't hard to figure out.
(4) TEs screen have burned the defense the entire season.
(5) Another long term problem is the middle has been weak. When teams really want to run up the middle against Dallas, they do so...easily. The Cowboys are so focused on getting pressure on the QB, that the run up the middle is exposed.

Not saying get a defensive or offensive minded coach. Cowboys are really in a bind because both sides of the ball has issues. Jimmy Johnson / Bill Parcells were neither. Both were well rounded coach that focused on both sides and held each side accountable.

Not saying I am lobbying for him but just take a look at the coaching resume history of Greg Roman.

I wouldn't touch Jamal Adams, for what he'd cost both in draft capital and contract after this year.

The defense needs minor tweaks, not an overhaul.

I would say the defense needs a defense scheme change. Not saying switching from, 4-3 to 3-4 or an overhaul. but a different philosophy which can be done with the current players.

Yea, agreed. By tweaks I meant personnel, it needs a significant philosophical change.

I would take Adams but only with a 2nd rd pick,he has only 2 years left on his contract.

The question is would 5 years on a rookie contract for Delpit is better then a 5 year record breaking contract for an all pro Adams.

You call needing 2 quality DT’s, a good back-up LB’er for our fragile starters, an upgrade at CB over Chido and a new FS to bench X Woods’ ineffective azz minor tweaks?

Everything you just said is minor tweaks, especially since you're wrong on DT.

Draft a starting safety before the 2nd day of the draft is over like most NFL teams. No need to overpay the Jets for Adams.

I’d give hill and a 4th
Otherwise I’d just draft one

Why Delpit?....do you guys even watch him?...he cant tackle....the knock on Delpit is he cant open field tackle....I dont want a run stopper SS that cant tackle

Well you answered the question. We will see about Delpit on Monday against Clemson. He is healthy now.

I prefer a ball hawking safety myself
Been a long time

Jamal Adams is gon a be expensive in multiple ways, but I don't think you can quantify what he brings to a team.

Everyone here chirps about attitude, dogs, war daddies etc. Well, Adams is that dude. He WANTS to hit. He want to lay wood and hurt dudes. I would absolutely give up a first and extend him.

Adams, Xavier Woods, and Lewis would give us three nasties in the back end who thrive on making plays. Yes please.

Jets wanted a starting Olineman & 2 #1s lol...

And how did that work out for them? You offer a team what you value a player at. If they don't take it, fine, you walk. I'd be willing to give up a first. Lol?

You're overstating Adams.

He's loud, but that doesn't really matter. He doesn't make plays in coverage, and that has to be priority #1 for NFL safeties.
