I love the Jason Garrett as Head Coach idea...I think he is more than capable of doing us proud. Does he know everything... no.. he doesn't but who does. I am also not sure what the hangup with him not having called plays is...Heck Marty doesn't even wear a headset...play calling should be left to the coordinators... a head coach has to have people skills, needs to have football knowledge, needs to have leadership and a vision and Garrett has that in spades... I can't think of a finer selection from the coaches that are available.
I really hope Jerry makes it happen. to those non believers if it does happen..you just mark ole Zax's words and enjoy the ride

If Jerry Jones has hopes of returning this franchise to being a contender year after year then his best option is to hire a coach with his eye to the future. Then let that coach pick his staff and have a significant input on player personnel.
If Jason Garrett is the coach Jones sees as that man then he should do it now and not put some lameduck HC in, which IMO can only lead to a divided locker room. This is the perfect time to do it as we have a young roster and many of our coaches have either left or are not under contract.
Fans will need to understand this is a move invested in the longterm future of this organization, And understand there will be growing pains and mistakes made.
If Jones takes this road IMO it will signal he really has learned the lessons of the past. I would support it and I think most fans would as well.
I can't help but think about the years from 1960 thru 1964 when after 4 years of some really bad football with the media and the fans clamoring for Landrys job, Tex Schram gave Tom a new 10 year contract. That is the move which set the standard and allowed this franchise to become one of the most successful in NFL history.
Does Jerry have the courage to make such a move, I for one hope so........
