I don't own a HDTV set. I watch HDTV programming (and record the games) on my computer. I use a Pinnacle USB tuner and a small antenna that I place by the window. I watch and record TV shows using this free program:

I then use VideoRedo to split the scenes I want to upload to YouTube.
