If this was Dez, I'd be like, dang kid'll learn. However this is a VET, and he should know to look around and to his left.

As the play was developing and I saw the def coming up on his left.....I knew something bad was going to happen...........and it did. :(

It was just a great play by the defense. Roy had the ball securely. He even put a second hand on it at one point. The defender made a heads up, lucky play. You know how often guys try to strip the ball without success? This time it worked. You could argue that Roy should've laid down, but I don't see anything wrong with what he did. The defender is paid to do his job too. As much as I hate it, Malcolm Jenkins did his job.

Where are you guys getting this? It's not a rookie mistake not to look to your left.

He is running in a straight line with a guy to his right. The guy is in position to catch him. You don't look to your left in that situation because it would slow you down. Roy is looking to protect the ball (so he switches it) and he's looking to score.

He made a mistake. Let's stop trying overanalyze this as if he violated some fundamental rule of technique. He did everything right, but Malcolm Jenkins just made a great play. You do understand that our opponents are capable of making great plays and that it's not always because the Cowboys don't do things right, right?

It's Jerry fault! If he would have built an endzone video board Roy would have been able to see Jenkins coming!

Wow. Perspective.

He just didn't see the guy.

He had the ball in his right arm, anticipated contact while trying to set up his blocker, and actually moved the ball into his left arm to secure it.

Crap happens...the guy came up on his left from a blind spot and just happened to get a great grip on the ball.

If our guys would have done the same thing to their WR, the forum would be going ape over what a sensational, heads up hard nosed play it was.

Their guy made a great play. They get paid to do that. Sometimes you have to tip your hats to the other guy.

Rookie mistake?

If you start looking around you just slow down..Best thing to do is run straight ahead and protect the ball. Roy had a guy on the right of him which he seen that's why he switched hands. Who knew the guy that fell down could make up that much ground?

Heads up play from the defender and poor ball security on Roy. But I dont blame Roy Williams. He had a good game and honeslty this season He's been more then ok. I mean He made his defender look silly on that play. Keep your head head up Roy.

Here's my problem with this (not you, but Roy). If this wasn't something that happens with a large part of the time, I would agree with you. But either Roy is a magnet for bad luck or he doesn't focus enough. Either way, I don't want it to continue into next year.

The guy can make great plays but he makes too many bad plays and they are at really bad times.

Roy never looked behind him because he still believes in his NFL combine 40 time.

Too bad Miles wasn't able to set him up with a better block so that Roy would have angled to the right for it. If that happened Jenkins probably doesn't catch him.

:laugh2: You know, when he caught it my mind instantly went back to Green Bay last season. I was pleading with Roy not to give it up. The guy is just snakebit.

Go back and watch Roy's catches and tell me he doesn't do a great job of protecting the ball. He is playing better the Austin is right now.

Roy was not carrying the ball carelessly. It was an outstanding play by an outstanding defensive player. Just like every pick is not a terrible throw by the QB, every fumble is not reckless ball carrying. Sometimes the millionaire defensive players make plays too.

We just barely got beaten by the super bowl champions without our starting QB. I'm happy as hell that we played the way we did.

I don't think he was careless with the ball either. But I think he must be pretty weak in the arms or Jenkins is extremely strong.

The Saints made a play. We need to get over it. With that said, I think Roy added another nail to his coffin

Dez's crunctime moments sure didnt happen yesterday. W/O Roy, boys would not have even 3 wins this year. Hes made some amazing blocks, focusing alot more, etc. IMO, cowboys lose a step next season without him, because hurd wont draw as much coverage, at least with roy, other teams have to pay him attention opening up miles and dez.
