This is the mantra of losers. This is player speak for..... he let us do it our way.

I want (whether it is Garrett or someone else) a coach who treats them like PLAYERS.

GROWN PEOPLE NEED SUPERVISION TOO.

Just ask anyone who manages people in any endeavor, at any level. People left to themselves do not perform well, as a general rule. Leadership is getting people to achieve what they would not have achieved without you. Plain and simple.

problem was that most on this team are teenagers who think they are men.

Treating teenagers like adults will get you in trouble EVERYTIME.

I agree.

I want Garrett to come in here and force them to play up to the level they're supposed to or bench them and move on to someone who will.

exactly, if i was red i would tell every player that if they don't give 100% on every play they will be benched. i don't care if we win another game this year as long as we are giving it everything we have.

Your exactly right. That is one of the disagreements I have with some around here who are making player evaluations on this team based on things they have seen this year.

Who knows? These players have been self coached for years now. I can't believe Jerry let it get this bad. :bang2: :bang2:

Great point.

Certainly NFL players need to be managed most times. When they get to the point where they don't need any advice or take any...they are useless.

Another indictment about Wade from Bennett...

"Coach lets us learn on our own...."

What!

Nice post.

Yep. I dont care who you got on your team, they have to be led. Look at the 1997 Dallas Cowboys under Switzer's last year. They had Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt and a whole lot of people with multiple Superbowl Rings patroling that lockerroom, and they just outright quit in the middle of the season just like this team has ... and they didn't have an injury to the QB to blame it on.

What!

I heard Bennett say awhile ago that "Coach Wade treated us like men."

Bennett needs to be treated like a teen-ager.

Wade lost this team. Sure, treat them like men, but make them work like a football player. That's what real men do!

What!

I heard Martellus say that in his special needs voice and almost spit my coke out.

"Coach Wade".... sounds more like how you talk about your little league coach.

"Coach Tom".... not coach Landry?
"Coach Vince"..... not coach Lombardi?
"Coach Chuck".... not coach Noll?
"Coach Jimmy".... not coach Johnson?

I know that I'm making too much of it, but I'm just making the point that I think the players LIKED Wade, and even RESPECTED him, more on a personal level than a coaching level.

Players respected Landry, I don't think any of them thought of him as a buddy.

No, he treated them with kid gloves. Pacman got in trouble again and skated, until the commish stepped in. Newman shoved a coach on the sideline and skated. Players who screwed up in camp had to sit out one whole play. That'll teach 'em! Screwing up in real games? No consequences or benchings.

From Wade's after game comment...

"I tell my players to don't look in the mirror and tell yourselves that you did'nt give it your all". - what Wade said.

What? OK coach. I can play crappy and then look in the mirror and tell myself that I gave it my all...gotch, coach. (where's my Iphone) - what some players probably do and think.

Garrett just stepped into mindless confusion. Good luck with that!

"Coach Wade treated us like men."

Newman mentioned this in every interview he gave...... drove me crazy, if he treated you like men, why not stand up and play like men?
