I am not a fan of taking a RB high in the first round, but I am warming up to taking Jeanty. The Cowboys need so many players might as well just grab the best players available when the pick.
If they trade down from 2 to 6. He would be a good pick and they would still have pick 34 and whatever else they got in trade. Or they could take a different player at 6 and get their running back between 34 and 66.

Jeanty is great but after seeing what so many other RBs can do (ex: Hampton from UNC) - I just can't justify taking a RB that high when you could still get a high-quality RB either later in the 1st or after. If Jeanty is an A+ prospect then I'd be fine with an A or A- prospect that can be had later in the draft who would have similar impact on this team.

When’s the last time taking a RB top 10 worked out for a team? Even as great as Adrian Peterson was he won 1 playoff game in his career. Zeke never saw a conference championship game. Saquon moved on to his 2nd team to have a career year. Add in a handful of outright busts like Ronnie Brown, Trent Richardson and Cadillac Williams. Ladanian Tomlinson might be the lone success story since the year 2000.

Bottom line is that a great RB is a nice thing to add to an established team, but adding a great RB to a bad team isn’t going to change anything.

I think when all is said and done the highest Dallas will be picking is 7th. Maybe they can trade down s afe spots and still get a player, but I would not trade down just to target Jeanty in this draft.

If Dallas can lose out they would probably be 2 or 3. If they win 1 game they probably are at 3 to 5.
