People on this board were interested, I never saw anything linking the Cowboys to him. Even if they were interested he was under contract and not allowed to tlk to us, therefore the "He who hesitates" line is wrong

Actually there's blurb in an article somewhere stating that Jerry spoke to Capers but was rebuffed. So it's not so much about hesitating or being wrong, Capers wasn't interested in signing on for what amounts to a 1-yr deal.

Parcells recently spoke to Dom Capers to gauge his interest in running the defense, but was rebuffed. Still, it's an indication Parcells wants an established coordinator. But as hard as it might be to fathom, not every coach yearns to work for Parcells.

Parcells recently spoke to Dom Capers to gauge his interest in running the defense, but was rebuffed. Still, it's an indication Parcells wants an established coordinator. But as hard as it might be to fathom, not every coach yearns to work for Parcells. ​

JMO, I imagine Parcells was given permission, along with whoever else inquired about his services seeing as they had no head coach and the assistants are all in limbo.

Who do the tampering rules apply to? Cause I know players talk to other players about signing with their team during the pro bowl, but nothing is ever done

It's not tampering if he was given permission...

And then depending on how it was presented to Capers, could it technically be called tampering? It could've been presented to him as a hypothetical.

While I don't think Parcells went thru a bunch of subterfuge to talk to Capers, I don't think he would do anything to jeapardize the organization.

Oh I dont think he would jeopardize the org, I was going off th other gentleman saying the dolphins wouldnt make him availiable.

I am just trying to figure the tampering rules out
