1. Why didn’t they do a pay cut on Crawford when he was openly willing to take one?
2. Why isn’t anyone getting playing time over Connor Williams?
3. Why did we decide to pay Jaylon so much money when he really hasn’t done much of anything?
4. How in the world can receivers be running as wide open as they were in the first couple of games?

Why haven't the Cowboys advanced beyond the divisional round of the playoffs in 25 years?

Same answer.

Why does it still appear as if the other team has 13 guys on defense and we are playing with 9 on offense?

1. I don't know why they love Crawford so much. But at this point who else do they have? Their DTs are awful. I wonder how much McCoy would have helped and it he had not gotten hurt, who they would have cut. I think Poe is a total waste of space.

2. Right now they have no one else. But what we saw yesterday is a coach that is willing to make big decisions, like moving Zack Martin out to RT and bringing the rookie center in to play. I think they need to replace Williams at some point but I have not seen enough of McGovern to say he is the guy or not. Broaddus made a comment on twitter yesterday that some scouts think Knight's position is actually inside at guard. I was wondering if Terence Steele might not be bad inside.

3. Another mystery. The Cowboys refuse to sign top free agents because they are overpaid. But then they overpay their own free agents. This is the genius of the Jones family. Jaylon Smith is just terrible. Lawrence is not terrible but he is not worth anywhere near $21 million a year. They could have had the Smiths up in Green Bay for a little more than they paid Lawrence. Staggeringly stupid.

4. Clearly the secondary is not comfortable with the defense. Injuries, no preseason games, etc. are probably contributing to it. In a way it's better that they are just confused right now than if they have no talent because the confusion can be fixed. I love what Jimmy Johnson said about not drafting dumb players though. Smart players pick things up quicker. They recognize plays quicker. They avoid mistakes. I can;t say if the Cowboys have dumb players but it seems at least of pretty dumb based on some of the mistakes they make. I am hoping the defense improves over time. But guys going on IR like it's the prom worries me.
