Headed to Austin

You can NEVER go wrong with The Salt Lick... the prime rib for $24 on Sunday can feed a family of five... It's very near my house... wave as you go by... ;)

btw... Salt Lick does NOT take credit cards nor do they serve alcohol. Bring cash and bring beer if you drink...

Also, if you want top-notch Mexican food, I suggest La Fonda San Miguel... a bit upscale but very well worth it...

There is SO much to do in Austin... you can't go wrong...

The moment I saw Salt Lick on Man vs. Food, I knew I had to go. My wife says I am more excited about trying the bar-b-q than covering the state tournament.

Thanks for the heads up with the credit cards. If you want, you can leave me a few bucks at the register to pay for the meal! Just an idea. :).

I have two teams in the girls Class 1A Division I and Division II State Tournament in Austin this week.

Going to leave tomorrow morning. I lover covering the state tournament. Get to watch some great basketball.

I will be there Wednesday, Thursday., Friday, and Saturday.

Any places in Austin me and wife should check out? Going to have our three little ones with us, 5, two and 17 months.

I know I want to eat some good bar-b-q, and I heard The Salt Lick in Driftwood was a place to check out.

Sweet, I was wondering where you ran off too. Guess you have a great seat for concerts at nutty brown!

Fonda San Miguel is pricey, but it's a great place to take a date. Great interior Mexican food too. Fine dining.

Good luck and have a good time. The Bob Bullock Museum is definitely a place you'll want to take the family. In addition to the IMAX, they have a neat little gift shop and cafe. I work across the street at the Stephen F Austin Building.

Yup..

Hey guys, headed back to Austin tomorrow, and will be there until Sunday for the girls state tournament. I checked out a few of places you guys told me about last year, but the best part of the trip was Salt Lick. Thinking about making the drive to Lockhart this time. Heard they have some good BBQ joints. Any other places I should check out. This time I'm flying solo, the wife and kids couldn't make the trip.
