I've been a Cowboys fan since I was 10 years old (believe me when I say, that was a long time ago) I raised my son to be a Boys fan, and now he's grown up and doing great on his own. I live on the West coast and the closest pro team are (cough) the Seahawks.
Over the years I've talked about going to a real Cowboys game in Dallas, knowing that I would probably never really get the chance to get there . I took the family to Seattle one year for a pre-season game which Dallas won btw :)
Well, the other day my son called, "Dad we are going to Dallas". I did all the arguments... No money, blah blah. Dad, he said, I allready bought the tickets, they'll be at your house on Monday. Well, we lost that game Sunday and honestly I was a bit down about our trip (for about 5 min.) I'm headed to Dallas, and for me it's a dream about to be real. Even bigger, my kid is making it so... I used to be jealous of the fans living in or close to the Cowboys, but now I feel like the luckiest guy around.

Congrats! Win or lose, you will definitely enjoy the trip! Make sure to take a drive to Valley Ranch. Not a whole lot to see, but it's always awesome to get your picture taken by the wall sign at the entrance with all the Superbowl years on it.

It's allready worth it my friend. But a win will definitely boost the excitement level. If the stadium isnt loud this Sunday, it wont be my fault. I promise you that :)

Got it, I'll do it for sure..

That's awesome man. Enjoy you day, win or lose. I know how you feel as I am a Cowboys fan from NY and finally got to a game the last year with their previous stadium. I am planning on getting down next fall to catch a game in the new building and looking forward to it as well already. Someday I hope to bring my 2 kids with me. I am working hard at instilling the Cowboys into their vocabulary.

Just stay away from the Cowboys Cafe, if it's still open. The last time I went there it made me sick as a dog.

Isn't that a great feeling to know you raised your kid right? Proper upbringing works every time......well, in most cases, anyway. Enjoy!

That's awesome!!! I'm actually going down on Friday with my fiancé my dad and my mom. It's been a tradition for a while now. We go opening day and thanksgiving. It's hard now a days cuz my dad needs surgery on both his knees but he's trooping it ! Lol let's get that blowout win this weekend.

Anyone who was near the two of us during a Cowboys loss would maybe argue whether I was raising him right at the time lol. Well, whose laughing now is all I have to say.:D

congrats!

hopefully the team puts forth a better effort this Sunday than last for you and your son and come away with a win

I was bored yesterday, so I went and got Wittens autograph. Still not jealous of the people living in Dallas? :D

Enjoy your trip!

I will be at the game also. I am taking a friend that has never been to Cowboys Stadium! If the crowd is not very loud, it won't be because of me either! I get into the the game! I wish the Cowboys crowd was known for being loud. Maybe they should pipe in some crowd noise like the Vikings do.

That is awesome, man. I'm a season ticket holder with my dad, and I know what a bond like that means to you both. I always enjoy seeing the folks who are there obviously for the first time or from a long way away. It is magical, and I never take it for granted.

Some advice. Go early, and stop and eat before you go so you don't have to overspend inside. The stadium is massive and incredible, so take it all in. I like to walk in about 90 minutes before kickoff just to "be there" and get my mind right. There's a lot going outside the stadium on both ends, but I prefer to stay inside. Up to you.

Take a pair of binoculars. Yes, you'll see a ton on the big screen, but you'll want to look around on the sidelines, too. You'll be glad you did.

If you're spend money and eat, get the chicken flautas from one of the Mexican concessions or the BBQ beef sandwich from one of the others.

If you get here Saturday, go to the stadium and go to the pro shop. It's cool. On gameday, however, it's a beating. Just too many people to sift through.

Also take Cooper to Randol Mill, and drive in from the west to the parking lots (unless you have a parking pass already). You'll have to walk a bit, but you'll get out fast. I pay heavily to park close because my dad can't walk far, but I still come in that way and get out pretty quickly.

Enjoy. I hope they play well and make it even more memorable for you.

I hope you have a great time! I always do when I go! Of course, victories make the trip even sweeter! * Note* you'll miss Dallas as soon as the plane get's airborne upon departure! :star:
