Health more important than bye

If we jump out to a big lead this week we should pull them all..

Focus on getting healthy, not on trying to get the #1 seed in NFC.

Tyron, Zeke, Pollard, Dak...
You think Dak is hurt? I think his issue is his decision making. He can still make all his throws and he runs ok.

#1 seed is gone for us.

The NFL really wants Tampa to get that bye.
If some how there is a three way tie for the number 1 seed, we get the tie breaker. With what is going on this week you don’t know who will miss certain games. Don’t sleep on the Ravens and Saints pulling upsets this weekend. That Saints defense is tough and Lamar can run the Packers out of Baltimore.

I'm more concerned about Dak and the offense getting back on track than the #1 seed.

If they are still struggling in the playoffs, it won't matter what seed the Cowboys are.

I have been going from thread to thread preaching that the 17 game season, the size and speed of todays athletes, only 1 team getting a bye, potential games lost due to covid.....load management needs to be part of the future of the NFL. You just have to find ways not to make it obvious.

How you construct your roster. How you manage your roster throughout the season. The traditional way you deploy your personnel throughout a game needs to revolutionized. Just like DL are rotated throughout a game to keep guys fresh...finding a way to get your reserve OL reps in a game needs to incorporated. Some smart organizations (Pats) already do it. Just like 5 or 6 WRs get reps during a game. The same needs to be done for the RB position. The days of a RB carrying it 25 times a game, closing out every game...needs to be re-evaluated. Roster sizes need to be re-evaluated. How many players can dress on game day needs to be re-evaluated.

Our top 2 RBs have no business on the field right now. Talk of Pollard being a game time decision is absurd. If we are trying to make a Super Bowl run....there are 8 games left. Neither Zeke or Pollard have 8 games in them at this point. Not all RBs are created equal. But the depth chart needs to be 4 deep. 2 other RBs need to play over the next couple of weeks. But we are not thinking like that because that line of thinking flys in the face of tradition. "If I can walk I can play"....is is what is going on right now. And that is very short sighted. We are headed for 1 and done if Zeke and Pollard enter the playoffs in the state they are in right now.

I agree to a certain extent. I think this team getting back to playing good football right now means a lot and the noise is getting louder as they are constantly being question on what is wrong with the offense. I would not play a guy who medical staff feels should not be out there but I don't think shutting things down now and then hitting post season and expecting just to turn things on is a good ideal. I think most teams are looking to hit their stride hitting post season and I think Cowboys need to be focused on doing just that.

What is the tie breaker in the event of a 3 way tie and how do you know we already have it? I hope you're right.

I believe it’s conference wins. Which if we win out we’ve only lost one.

Priorities are

  1. Figure out the offense
  2. Be healthy
  3. Keep winning to get the bye
The only reason the last one is last is because the bye opportunity has all but passed this team....by.

Strum made a good point about the last interception and Dak's calf. He refused to throw off one leg like he has done in the past, rather reset both feet and made the throw late. This suggests his calf is much worse then we realize. We know Tyron, Zeke, Pollard are all hurting, win the East and rest the injured starters in hope they can make a healthy run in the postseason.

Couldn't agree more, win the east and rest your hurting players. Hopefully, that happens this weekend, but more likely after the game against Washington if they win both.

The only way we can get the number 1 seed is if we finish 13-4. We have that record we will own all tie breakers except the Bucs who beat us.
