Said Flo definitely wants to be back and the team wants him back, so they're "two steps closer" to getting him re-signed. He said the team is "willing to spend a lot of money to re-sign him," but he knows that it could only take one team willing to give him a ridiculous offer to upset the deal.

Also, Moose commented on the LT position in the Jason Garrett offense and said that because the offense uses a lot of "long developing" plays and is not a dink and dunk, 3 step drop and throw offense, the LT position is more important than it is for other offenses.

Garrett does run alot of 5-7 DROP pass plays, I forgot that. I want Flo back I know he gets a false start a game. But he is a very good player for this team. And sometimes you have to get players that fit your team.

Flozell Not a Sure Thing

A pair of NFL sources said Monday morning that the return of Flozell Adams to the Cowboys does not appear imminent. It was originally thought the two sides had reached at least some groundwork of an agreement in the area of a four-year contract.

But the Cowboys are reluctant to pay Adams what he believes the market will bear out, so his return appears shaky, at best.

Hmmmm, who do you believe?
Considering how adamant Wade sounded, I believe Wade. But like he said, it only takes one team to give him a silly contract. I'm glad that we're going to be competitive in the market, but obviously if he gets some 6 year, $70 million offer, good luck to him.

Yeah, word was out that he wouldn't give the Cowboys a home town discount. That I don't believe. I believe he would for the fact this is where he has been his entire career, and the Cowboys are a one of the better teams in the NFL.

Now, the questions is how deep of a discount would he be willing to take. As you noted, if someone offers Flo 6/yr $70M, he would be stupid to stay. Would he take 4/yrs $33M offer with $20M in guaranteed money vs say 6/yr $55M, but with $25M guaranteed? $5M more in guaranteed money and about $1.2M more per season with 2 more seasons.

The Cowboys offer would last until he is about 36 years, the other would would definitely end his career at around 38. Of course, if he still wanted to play and was playing at a high level at 36, he could sign again for quite a bit more than $8-9M a year. If he isn't playing at that level at 36, the team that signed him would be sure to cut him by then anyhow.

Change that quote to:

"We need Flo fo' sho' !"

... and you've got the makings of a pretty catchy bumber sticker!

JG needs to run more 3 step dink and dunks, quick stuff to keep the defenses off balance. defenses had us figured out later in the year.

The reporter is Mac Engel of the FW Enquirer. He was the only guy on the planet telling us that Carp was being shopped and of mysterious convos with Wade regarding it.

There are very few reporters I trust and Mac isnt one of them.

The only guy from the FWST worth reading is Hill.

You don't believe we are shopping Carp? I do -
Parcells and Phillips were always evasive and coy when it came to Carp all in all.

Its been reported for almost a year now and other than speculation there has been no link for the Cowboys or any other organization. If there isn't smoke, there isn't fire.
