I'll admit, I'm not much into the BCS crap (which is exactly what I think it is) so I'm not sure how it works. With that said, being a PSU fan I'm a little more then heart broken right now. With the new BCS rankings out I decided to torture myself and see what the possibility was that PSU could still by some act of god land in the national title game. I'm kind of looking for some insight as to what you all think if the following scenario should play out. Work with me here, this could get confusing.

Current BCS Standings:
1. Alabama 10-0 2. Texas Tech 10-0 3. Texas 9-1 4. Florida 8-1 5. Oklahoma 9-1 6. USC 8-1 7. Utah 10-0 8. Penn State 9-1 9. Boise State 9-010. Georgia 8-2
Now, the scenario's:

#7 Utah loses
11/22 No. 17 Brigham Young

#6 USC loses
11/29 Notre Dame
or
In the Pac10 Championship

#5 Oklahoma loses
11/29 @ No. 13 Oklahoma State

#4 Florida loses
11/15 No. 25 South Carolina
or
11/29 @ No. 19 Florida State

#3 Texas
I can't see a game on the schedule they lose unless it's in the Big12 championship

#2 Texas Tech loses
loses to 11/22 @ No. 5 Oklahoma

#1 Alabama loses
11/29 Auburn
or
In the SEC Championship

I know the odds are slim and none all the ablove scenarios play out but if they did, what's the odds my poor old Lions could find themselves in the hunt again?

Even then.....Florida, OU, UT, and TT would all remain ahead of PSU....

face it, you blew your shot when you lost to Iowa. your schedule is about as strong as the Cowboys OL.....

We had a shot, had Bama lost to LSU and OSU beat TT....but now, I think we are pretty much out of the Championship game.....I just hope we can finish strong and get a BCS bid now.

Texas Tech probably, but the point differential between PSU, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas isnt enough to allow any of those teams to lose and stay ahead of PSU if they win out. Esp Texas who like Penn State would be a lose to a unranked team and Florida who while has major seperation in the Ap and coaches poll did not really jump that far ahead in the BCS.

I know PSU schedule does not help but continued victories by Ohio St and Michigan St moving up really helps.

It's going to come down to a BIG12 tiebreaker for the Horns so it's not over yet, who ever wins the Big 12 (assuming who ever wins the Big12 north don't win it )will be in the BCS championship game

would TT hold the tiebreaker in the BIG12S if they lose to OU?

they would if OU lost to OSU

cause that would put TT and UT at 1 loss and TT beat UT.

Any of those are possible.... except USC losing in the Pac 10 Champ. game. The Pac 10 doesn't have a champ. game.

Personally, I want Bama to lose to Florida and Tech to OU, and then all the one loss teams win all their other games....

Bama one loss to Florida
Tech one loss to OU
Texas one loss to Tech
OU one loss to Texas
Florida one loss to Ole Miss
USC one loss to Oregon State
Penn State one loss to Iowa
Utah one loss to BYU
Boise State one loss to (insert team name here)...

Good luck figuring that one out BCS... ya friggin joke of a system.

Imagine if all the teams end up with 1 loss, except Utah and Boise St. One of them will still get screwed out of a BCS game.

Yeah I'd like that too. But if the BCS put both of those teams in (unlikely I know) they'd have an excuse... "Well those two teams have been the best, they're undefeated." That would be a bunch of bunk, but they would say that.

If that happened, I'd imagine the uproar would be even more though.

I want the scenario that causes the most grief for this system every year.

A friend one time came up with this idea... I'm adopting it as my new platform as it's better than the BCS.

Go to the store and buy a bag of apples, oranges, bananas, or your fruit of choice. On each one place a name of a team, Bama, Tech, Texas, etc.

Take your previously marked fruit to the zoo. Go to the monkey cages. Take your fruit and chunk it all into the cages. Whichever piece of fruit is picked up first by a monkey is your number one team, second is #2, etc.

but what if monkeys dont like oranges.....then that team gets left out.

I say you pick the exact same fruit (apples) and carve the Team name into the apples. place the apples on a lazy susan. While it is spinning release the monkey. then you rank the teams based on the order in which he picks the apples.

Strength of Schedule should be the only factor in deciding who plays who. The Polls should have NOTHING to do with it.

That would actually be a dream scenario. The BCS needs to go and the only way it will happen is to continue to have situations like this.
