Award-winning Star-Telegram sports columnist Jim Reeves underwent successful quintuple heart bypass surgery Aug. 27 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. He is home now, and his recovery is going well.
It was the second time Reeves, 62, has had bypass surgery. The first was an emergency operation in September 1995 to place a single graft following a heart attack. He has battled coronary artery disease since that time.
Veteran Fort Worth heart surgeon Dr. Stephen Hudgens performed the surgery.
His column will resume in December when he has completed rehab and has fully recovered.
