Heath and Webb

I think most NFL fans could throw in the direction of a zone covered by Webb and Heath.

My roommate said something (also a lifelong fan) that I agree with. You mean you couldn't find the last guy who was cut from a team that had big time Division One experience over a guy from Saginaw St? I know there are great players from small schools but the eye test says he's over-matched in every conceivable way.

It's an endless cycle of mismanagement by not being able to fill out the roster with serviceable players because of our cap situation.

This current regime's track record of finding defensive back talent is atrocious. Our "committee" of Garrett/Jerry/Stephen/Ciskowski/Lacewell/the Valley Ranch Janitor and whoever else is involved in this "process" are a complete joke.

Heath has to be one of the worst players in the league. Really hard to believe that there isnt anyone waiting by their phone.

Heath is a ST player who is starting for us. Ala McCray.

Webb isn't an NFL player period. Heath isnt NFL ready, but he can contribute there in ST. I honestly think Webb looks completely lost on every play.

Webb is a Goldilocks chasing a receiver, every play.

I dont expect much from a rookie CB playing a lot of snaps. I expect to get fooled on double moves, I expect him to take the wrong angle on a crossing route, I even expect a mental breakdown or 2 or even 3 a game. I just don't expect you to be completely out of position on every route, I don't expect you to look like you generally have no idea where your supposed to be position wise during a play. I don't expect the deer in headlights look game after game. You get beaten on a 3rd down, so be it. Your completely lost when the ball is in the air, in the end zone.... too much. He isn't an NFL talent.

Yeah, and his hair just seems to accentuate how beaten or out of position he always is - horizontal in full chase mode. It's like a Benny Hill sketch. I was hoping that Moore could step up yesterday, but.....

Moore made a play, unfortunately Carr ruined it lol.

Webb and Heath should be on the practice squad...

Exactly. Both have a future on the team but shouldn't be on the field as rookies. Heath has had moments where he looked OK, which is actually pretty promising considering he comes from a tiny school. Webb is essentially a practice squad player who shouldn't be on the field at all but injuries haven't let the team any choice.

But both guys have upside. If Leary had been forced to start last year he would have been abused. But with experience he has been pretty solid this year. I expect the same from Heath. Webb, maybe or maybe not.

I agree i didn't see terrible play on Heath's part, he had excellent coverage on Jeffrey along the EZ back line on the TD to Bennett where Webb got completely lost. On the Jeffrey TD (Webb had no business covering him anywhere anytime) He did provide the inside support which was his assignment) but probably could have delivered a bigger hit than he provided to force an incompletion.

I see a guy with some athletic talent that is starting to be assignment sound but lacks the physicality for the position at present. Maybe it's fixable maybe not. He deserves another year or TC at least.

Webb OTOH, I'm not seeing anything I like. And his dreads are ridiculous for someone with such poor game. I know it shouldn't matter to me, but it does. It's just stupid to watch hair flailing around while another TD is surrendered to your assigned man.

Hairist!!!! Kidding, Agree on the Jeffrey play. That is a very low percentage play to try to thread into the back corner, but Jeffrey made a great play. And plenty of players are lost as rookies but have it click in their second or third year (Ron Leary is this year's examples, Dwayne Harris was last years) but we certainly haven't seen anything from Webb at this point.

Wilcox should be starting, period... I don't understand why Heath is on the field honestly unless it's when they use the dime package with Church at LBer.

He is a UDFA man. We didnt draft him. He earned a spot. It's not Heaths fault that we have no depth in front of him.

give 5 posters from cowboyszone access to film and they'd pick better defensive backs for this team than these apes running the show. Seriously, these 2 scrubs dont belong on the football field. I read on espndallas that Grandpop Kiffin is going to hang on to Heath as starter smh this season cant end fast enough. You have a guy at S that you drafted in the 4th round sitting on the sidelines, while the undrafted scrub starts. Someone phone Kiffin let him know he was undrafted for a reason

This is another thing that rookies and new players see. Jason Witten drops, Romo overthrows, Carr holds and it's when our biggest plays and opportunities happen.
