Dez is an intelligent kid. He had a learning disability that hindered him but from what I have heard he did work hard in the classroom to keep his grades up.

I don't think he's stupid but he does probably need to take some public speaking lessons/classes. If he ends up being the star I think he will be, it would be very helpful in getting endorsements.

It would be helpful for sure, but not a necessity for endorsement deals. If he performs, he'll get his endorsements, regardless if he could talk or not. Now, if he were to be a spokesperson, thats a different story.

Exactly right. None at all. Maybe how quickly they can grasp a playbook, but I doubt wonderlics have a connection with that. Hence Dez's 16 and how easily he can learn playbooks. Or by MARINOS 13 and how he learned in such a quick time.

I think there is a difference between "football intelligence" and "academic intelligence".

Maybe it coincides with some players. But I've heard where coaches say they get the smartest kid in the classroom but they can't diagram a play, and where you get a kid who doesn't do well in the classroom but they know exactly what they should be doing and what everyone else should be doing on the defense.

I think it really depends on the player. Some guys just have a natural feel for the game irrespective of their Wonderlick or academic standing.

the wonderlic tests how quickly you can diagnose and solve a problem, i really don't think it measures 'intelligence' per se. i bet if given longer on the test, a lot of people would get the max, or close to the max, score because they could actually go back and check work and think out the problem, or take time to figure out a pattern.

also some people really struggle with things they are not interested in, but if they are passionate about they pick up things quick, so if you love football and hate math, it really doesn't matter that you suck at math, if your actually gonna be a football player lol

It's like the guy said above, it shows how fast you can solve things and pick up on things.

I think the wonderlic score should be interpreted as follows:

High score for Cowboy player - very reliable predictor of success
Low score for Cowboy player - meaningless measure of intelligence
Low score for opposing player - indicator of how stupid he is and becomes a punchline
High score for opposing player - who cares?
