What type of film is the photographer using? That's almost impossible to capture. Even with the fastest shutter speed, there's no way a rotating football can be captured like that.

Type of film? Just need a real fast shutter speed....1/2000 - 1/4000 would do it. Then of course you'd need film fast enough to get a good exposure....400iso - 1000iso or just use a digital slr...the 20D can go up to 1/8000 (1/8000 of a second) ....probably what most of these camera men are using anyway.

Baseball players are taught to try to see/read the seams on the baseball while they're standing in the batter's box.

Maybe that's what Marvin is doing ... trying to read the name "Paul Tabliabue" on the ball as it approaches.

I knew I saw that somewhere before. That is the old "Jedi MindTrick". He ismaking the ball his. He is slowing it and us down in real life. That is why Marvin is so darned good.

I'm sure the photographer got several split second shots of that sequence. It would have been interesting to see the full progression of pictures, assuming Marvin caught the ball.

We can somehow tell how fast the ball is moving in that picture?

Does it have little squiggly lines coming out the back side?
