Even though he deserved the invite, Cedric wasn't going to win it to anyways. Leinart walked into the Locker room last Saturday Night knowing that his 5 TD Performance had just won him the Heisman.

BTW HH, where did you find this information at? It's not up on Heisman.com or ESPN.com yet. ESPN Bottom Line?

The one thing these guys have that Benson does not, and is the reason Benson is not on the list.....

They are members of Undefeated teams that will be playing in the National Championship.

I imagine a QB will win it (the H.Trophy)...I don't think Peterson has a chance, not because of his performance, but because he is a freshman.

However to Me R.Bush is a very nice player that does it all for his position.

Leinart is going to win. I am frankly surprised that Bush is there when Alex Smith or Benson probably should have been.

Your zeal is admirable but your facts are off.

The finalists have NOT been announced yet, and won't be for a couple of weeks, I believe.

I think you've mistaken an ESPN commerical hyping the ceremony (which features the four afforementioned candidates) for the actual list of finalists.

In fact, the ballots aren't even due until after this weekend's games have been played.

For what it's worth, I think the finalists will be White, Leinart, Peterson, and Benson.

I really don't know who's going to win. I think this weekend will really determine it. Naturally I'm rooting for either White or Peterson. I'll say that White is going to win, but if he doesn't shine tomorrow night, then it probably will be ole Brillo-head out in USC.

White should win, but they will give it to Leinert b/c White already has one. That is alright! We know who the best QB is and will find out on Jan. 4th!

You can argue it both ways. In his biggest game this season against OU, Benson didn't come through. And the rest of the teams on their schedule are relatively weak so his performance wasn't that impressive.

I think so. If Jason White didn't win it last year, he would have probably won it this year. But White didn't significantly outplay Leinart if you are going to argue that he outplayed him at all. It was just too close and the committee likes to spread the wealth.

Personally, I think Adrian Peterson deserved it and had he been a Jr. or Sr., it wouldn't even be a question as to who the winner would be

Just out of curiousity, what are you basing this "relatively weak" designation upon? Not trying to get into a pissing contest....just wondering.

I personally think the Big 12 South conference is overrated but yeah, if you want to show me all those bottom of the top 25 ranked teams Texas beat so be it.

I'm glad you posted this. I thought it was a bit premature to have the names listed already. That's the last time, I give anotherer poster the benefit of the doubt on an issue I knew was off. I should have confirmed the info.

I never called you crazy or stated any other personal opinions. You just claimed that Peterson should win but Benson was not impressive. UT's strength of schedule is 15th in the nation. OU's strength of schedule is 22nd in the nation. Benson has more yards and TD's than Peterson but more carries. However, they both average 5.8 ypc. Why would Peterson be deserved, but Benson is not worthy of an invite? I think Peterson is a better back than Benson. In the next couple of years AD is going to be something very special IMO. If Benson doesn't get an invite to the Downtown Athletic Club for the ceremony it is a crime. JMO
