Helman seem to think we could trade for Pickens

Helman is an idiot. Zero percent chance we take an OL at 12 and zero percent chance we trade for GP.
Even though if the Joneses are smart (which we know they're not) they would draft OL and DL for the first 2-4 picks because Gawd only knows we can really use the help on both lines and not much done in Free Agency (not that was much available to begin with).

Drop out of the 2nd round? Heck no, Pickens doesn't have a lot of value. I could see a move down in the same round involving him but not into the 3rd or 4th.

Super talented receiver, but goes way against what was posted just yesterday about Schottenheimer wanting high character guys. Also is Jerry going to turn around and pay a guy like this right after extending Lamb? Just seems like an odd fit for the Cowboys.
Yup

This has all of the click bait hallmarks.
  • Doesn't match what Schotty indicated
  • Doesn't fit the profile of recent Dallas trades
  • Isn't really a priority at all considering Lamb situation
It's also too much for a possible rental for a team like Dallas that is a few years away from contending (at best).

If you're Buffalo or KC maybe you make this trade. But that compensation feels high for Pickens.

Don't like that. If we're going to trade for a talented but troubled receiver, it needs to be with a pick swap only. I'd be for trading No. 12 for No. 21 and Pickens so the Steelers can grab a QB, but not trading away our second for Pickens, even if we get a third-day pick in return.
This!

Pickens is super talented. He has some attitude issues, but the biggest issue to me is the "slice of the pie" he would be taking in an extension. Especially with Parsons still not done and Tyler Smith and Bland due next offseason or thereafter.

Is Pickens like Irvin.
He reminds me of Irvin in hs play, but Irvin was better. Then again look at the QB difference as well.

Fans thought Irvin was a knucklehead, but also seems Irvin's work ethic is far better, from what little I read about Pickens.

Pass. Pickens would cost far more than what a #44 pick might and totally negate what we might otherwise get at that spot. There are better deals to be made with less of a commitment.

Yeah, Pickens isnt like Irvin

So that would be our 2nd and 4th on WRs, one a headcase and the other a bust so far.

Ok, so here’s the thing. Total mess in the makin’. I mean, really, you’re talkin’ about bringin’ in a guy who’s got more mood swings than a soap opera actor on a sugar crash, believe me. Could be talented, sure, but that doesn’t mean he's the right guy for a team that’s already tryin’ to keep their locker room from fallin’ apart

Now look, Pickens, he’s got some speed, some flash, I’ll give him that — but it’s all over the place. You don’t know what you’re gonna get week to week. One game he looks like a superstar, next game he disappears. Sad!

Dallas needs stability. Big league stability. Dak needs somebody he can count on, not some hot-and-cold wideout who’s gonna throw tantrums on the sidelines if he doesn’t get 10 targets. You bring Pickens into that mix, and guess what? It’s gonna be a yuge headache. Drama, drama, more drama. Like a Real Housewives episode but with cleats and shoulder pads.

Plus, what’s the price? Pittsburgh’s not lettin’ him go for cheap. So now you’re gonna give up real assets — maybe a draft pick or two — for a guy who might light it up one week and then ghost ya the next? Total disaster. That’s not how you build a winning team. That’s how you end up losing in the wildcard round cryin’ into your brisket. Sad!
