This is being touted as the GREATEST Superbowl EVER played...
:squirrel:Eli Manning Superbowl MVP???? Kill me now. :shoot6:

Maybe I am being sour grapes...but other than the last few minutes of the game, I thought this was a giant SuperBORE!

Yeah Yeah...I know you gotta give the gnats props...But that is one NASTY VILE pill for me to swallow...:ralph:

Fellow NY/NJ Cowboy Fans...let me know your take on the game....if this was the GREATEST Superbowl ever played than I have clearly died and gone to H E Double Hockey Sticks...

the end was great. it was a little slow for the first half so I wouldn't say best ever...but best since the Rams won imo.

Sorry, as far as I am concerned the only thing it lacked was the Cowboys in it. Great game even though I dislike both teams.

I dealt with my boredom by drinking everytime Brady got slammed. Which was awesom.

OK - so it didn't start out with that as my intention. But it was happening so much, I figured I might as well try to keep up.

No Super Bowl can be considered the "Greatest" if it doesn't involve the Cowboys. In my opinion, even though they did not end right, the two Cowboys/Steelers match up in the 70's (SB X & XIII) were the best by a mile:starspin

The reason it wasn't good is because the better team played down and the Gints are stupid.

I'm in NY also.

I thought the game was a very good game...even though it was like rooting for Chicken Pox vs Measles...

I had no idea who to root for....I dislike both teams that much...

And I KNEW the fallout from a Giant win was going to be unbearable.

And it has been.

I didn't like either team coming in, and didn't want either team to win, yet even I can admit this was one of the best Super Bowls ever played. Definitely top 10.

As a fellow Cowboys fan Texan that now lives in the NYC area, I must say, that I have not listen to the local media as I'm not that stupid! :lmao2:

I have a few Giants fans around my work. I did the smart thing, found them first and congratulated them on the win and told them how happy I am that the Cheatriots didn't win. Then I walked away and stay away from them while they slobber all over themselves talking about it.

Of course, most of them know that I'm the boss and I can make life difficult for them :) I faced the music quickly, and now they got their quick and short laugh in. They avoid major punishment from me by shutting the you know what up around me! ;)

I agree. This was an excellent game, back and forth, great defensive struggle.

The Giants were huge underdogs and played a great game and beat a team no one else had. Let them have their well deserved moment of glory. Other team's fans didn't like hearing it from me when the Boys were winning SBs, it's just the nature of being fans.

This was a great game...no matter how much we hate both of these teams. Best ever depends on how you are defining the game, from a historical prespective, it was right up there....in terms of excitement....I think the Pats/Panthers game in '03 was better... in terms of quality of football, the Giants/Bills game was as good as it gets.

The Greatest Super Bowl ever would be Super Bowl 13 - Pittsburgh vs. Dallas.

Even though we ended up on the losing end, :bang2: that game was as exciting as any Super Bowl played and had the greatest collection of talent on the field ever.

Imagine: Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Drew Pearson, Cliff Harris, Charlie Waters, Randy White, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Harvey Martin, Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, Mean Joe Green, Jack Ham, Jack Lambert, Mel Blount all on the same field.

No Super Bowl played has had that much talent on one field and has been as exciting.

The only Super Bowl that possibly could have rivaled it would have been Super Bowl 28 and 29 between the Cowboys and Bills (Hall of Famers or soon-to-be Hall of Famers: Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Charles Haley, Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed and all pros Erik Williams, Cornelius Bennett). But those were blow out games so they were hardly exciting except to us Cowboys fans who enjoyed every minute of it. :D

I am with you guys. It sucks to be a Cowboy fan in N.Y. or N.J. right now, but as far as the game goes I guess I would put in the top 10, just for the 4Q alone. I also thought the 2 superbowls in the 70's against the Steelers were better, even though we came up short in both of them.

P.S. If you love defense, then you have to love this game.
For all the talk and rule changes to accommodate offenses, the Giants defense proved once again that Defense wins Championships.

It was one of the best defensive efforts in Super Bowl history, given the opponent.

I have always ranked that SB as the best ever. The two top teams of each conference from the decade facing each other in a rematch of a closely fought SB a few years before. It was close and had lots of drama and big plays. Still the best ever played IMO.

Stay away from the radio...especially ESPN and WFAN...

I've heard some real gems today...from the announcers...

Eli is now a hall of famer...he's raised himself to legendary status...

OY.

Tyree doesn't make that catch, in the middle of four Pats on a ball that was a wing and a prayer...and no one is even talking about Eli today.

Whatcha gonna do.

Not saying he had a bad game..but this "He's a top five QB" stuff is just off the wall.

That game is much more about the Giant front four than Manning. They are outstanding.

I'd add LB Kavika Mitchell in there too, he was all over the place making plays and in Brady's grill a lot as well.
