This just shows the NFL is
Can't they just re file in Texas once the suspension becomes official?

It is a timing issue. If Zeke's case gets tossed and then the NFL controls when they announce which means they have someone at the courthouse ready.

NFL now suggesting 4 pm Tues deadline for #EzekielElliott relates to his week's salary, not nec. his week's eligibility. Muddy. @1053thefan

So if 5 more minutes pass without a decision, Zeke plays Sunday night, correct? @fishsports

Zeke is supposed to be suspended without pay. Wonder if they are trying to figure out how to suspended him without pay if some other deadline is in play?

No case without standing, no standing unless harmed, no harm until NFL concludes its internal process--unless they can convince judge the process itself is so fundamentally corrupt as to render any further delay unwarranted.

The NFL has had a Tuesday at 4pm deadline for suspensions for several years, they should not be able to have their cake and eat it too.

Zeke's motion was scheduled to ensure it was after that deadline.

Just further proof of the lack of fairness in their treatment of Zeke.

That seems pretty easy to do at this point. Even my youngest son, who has Down syndrome, can understand this is fundamentally corrupt.

Zeke and his team will not know when the league is announcing their decision until the league actually tells them. By that time, the league will have filed in NY. This whole process by the NFL is disgusting. I don't know how JJ can take this lying down. This is going to get a WHOLE LOT uglier before it's all said and done, IMO.

IMO as a lawyer, the reason Henderson is now saying he might not have a decision today is because of the 5pm CDT hearing in front of the judge in Texas. NFL's position is that Zeke's lawsuit is not yet "ripe" and should be dismissed because the NFL has not yet formally suspended him. The NFL likely believes it can get Zeke's preemptive lawsuit dismissed by the Texas judge. Then, the NFL will simultaneous announce Henderson's upholding of the suspension and file a lawsuit in NY to enforce the suspension. Thus, the NFL hopes to get its preferred choice of forum: the Southern District of NY and the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, which already decided in its favor on the Brady appeal. This is the reason why Henderson is "delaying" today...

I'm a lawyer as well and total agree

I agree, but men of the robe can be funny sometimes.

The NFLPA lawyers addressed this issue. The harm is the process which is already complete from Zeke's side. Thy have nothing left to do. Thy basically said that injunctions are issued when the bulldozer is on the front yard not after the house has been demolished.

Judges really are not this stupid are they?If I were the judge in Texas I would tell the NFL that I will delay my hearing until they announce the decision on the appeal. ANY judge can see the NFL is not making decisions based on evidence and so the appeal is a sham.

Well I think they're also testing this judge's appetite for this case.
