Your sitting late 20’s I dream perhaps pick 32 each round and Tenn Hendon Hooker is sitting in front of Will McClay do you take your young competitor to Dak who’s going into yr three of 4 of his massive deal with your second round pick .

I don’t think Dak has been pushed in 7 years not sure that’s healthy . I think Hendon is gone by the time Dallas round 2 rolls in.

Sure, I like Hooker but feel like it’s a wasted pick.

If Dak continues to play well this year I’m going all in on his contract the next few years and building around him. If he is awful down the stretch then let’s consider it.

That being said - I’d 100% take a flyer on a toolsy midrounder to try and develop.

No. Like him or not, they are married to Dak so it would be a wasted pick. Considering they are pushing money into the voided years, its even less likely they move on. Contract #3 was always the plan

i'm not against it if mcclay thinks he can be the guy. Look at what the eagles did with hurts when they had a big wentz contract.

I'm always in favor of having a plan b if the opportunity presents itself but that all depends on how dak finishes out the year. if he struggles and the offense sputters like last year i'm all for it. If he has confidence and is playing well then we have a shot and are in the superbowl window and need to put resources elsewhere.

We may all love how Dak is playing then he throws a pass breaks a thumb . Gets tackled in an awkward position breaks an ankle pulls a calf muscle . I guess Rush operating the offense within his limits no turning the ball over until the Eagles game gives the Jones family a sense that QB 1 & 2 is covered no need to spend a 2 on a QB .

The Cowboys were happy with Tony as well then drafted a young mobile QB out of Miss St turned into a pretty good Ins policy as a 4th rounder . The position needs an upgrade some fresh talent with an upside to at least go after Coopers job .

I totally agree but is that with a second round pick if you feel like you have a team that is highly competitive? Personally for me no. I respect others will say yes.

I'm all for drafting a qb each year but only if the right one falls or it is in the middle to late rounds on upside guys who need development.

He played high school football about 45 minutes from where I live. Seems to but a really good guy from a good family. He has come along nicely the last two years at Tennessee but he will be 25 years old in January. Will be very old for a rookie.

Being 26 next league year has to hurt him right?

Hooker will have to come into the NFL "ready-made" and minimize his learning curve. If not, going to be hard getting a second contract off his rookie deal.

Yeah I’m willing. We’ve given Dak some good pieces and he’s brilliant and inconsistent. The inconsistency is tiring

26 with a blown ACL definitely complicates the evaluation.

And the "is Dak legit" debates will probably continue until 5 years after he retires, but no question he could smoke just about any college kid on the practice field. He just has way more experience with the mental part of the game.

So you are looking to sit a 26yo for one season, maybe two, then Dak's contract expires, and you roll out your 28yo first time starter and see what he's got. It sounds exactly like the thinking behind the Jordan Love situation, and that's been a mess.

If he's there in the mid to late 2nd--which many thought was where he would go even before the ACL---then Dallas might consider it.
I think he goes somewhere between early 2nd to late 3rd.

First, I would ask the NFL if it's legal for two teams to have the same GM. Then, I would ask Howie Roseman to take care of all personnel decisions lol.

Dak has shown he will keep the Cowboys “competitive” and say the right things

he’s a Jerry company man through and through

win or lose he is getting an extension

no...not in rd1.
love the player.
but i'm lookin' at other spots in the 1st.
now...if the injury shoves him further down...he'd be a steal.
