Sorry had to do it.

JFE and the rest of the crew have been touting how Henson has been treated unfairly well now the kid is coming in with the second unit and will get time with the first team offense as per Parcell's press conference.

I think its pretty evident that none of the QBs that we have at this point are going to make lemons into lemonade. They are completely dependent on the quality of personnel around them.

What i really wonder is how much of Romos stat line was dependent on him getting to play catch with Mr Witten and how much of Henson's had to do with Tucker and company doing their best impression of a sieve.

Now this is not to slam Romo by any means. Last preseason he looked pretty bad running the third team only to put up a solid performance when allowed to run the second.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Henson has his chance. If he plays poorly the writing is on the wall, but if he plays well then this board is going to be busy next week and one would have to think that the coaches have a tough decision to make.

Regardless sorry to start another QB thread but I felt that given the news from Bill it was something worth mentioning.

I'm very elated BP made this decision. Henson deserves a chance to show his wares with the first team offense. My wish is that he plays well enough to make Parcell's decision as tough as it can be.

Now if we only get some good play from the OL.

Witten does have a habit of making a QB look good.

Wee need to lock that man up to an extension pronto.

Ray Rhodes isn't going to hold back.

This is great for Henson. I wish Parcells had started him ahead of Bledsoe.

Last year in a real game situation against the Bears ( Ravens had checked out IMHO) he struggled with reading the blitz. Missed his hot reads and progressions and starred down WRs before passing.

I hope Rhodes brings the house. The best thing that can happen to Henson is if they come at him all out and he delivers a strike for a completion. The lights could come on quick and things could get interesting.

It's fairly apparent that training camp hasn't gone as expect for him, but if he can recapture that feeling he got when he was at Ann Arbor maybe he can stop thinking too hard and just play. Against the Cards he looked too mechanical almost robotic. I hope he just gets loose. A good way to get going is too take off on a run for some positive yards, get some applauds for the crowd. I think its all about confidence at this point for Henson........

Romo is clearly in the drivers seat.

I think this is Henson chance to prove he deserves to ride shot-gun.......

Both backups are getting their chances, which is fair. May the best man win the job and help us win games if he ever gets into a regular season game.

To me, this would be a waste.

I know Drew needs work. But putting him out there now serves no purpose.

If Bledsoe looked good, I could see it.

Don't think Bledsoe does not need work. He needs work.

A lot.

Henson in as two is a good sign, we can see what he has. If he fails, then the Romo lovers are correct. If not, we have some great competition.

But make no mistake, unless Bledsoe dies, there is no controversy. I really have to laugh when I see anything that suggests that Bledsoe will be benched or his position challenged.

He has his job until he is dead or gets injured. No matter how well Romo or Henson do, they still won't get Coach Parcells' trust.

There is one thing that you see with Henson and it is that he is unflappable and seems to be very even keeled.

Compare that to the very emotional and to be brutally honest, insecure Chad Hutchinson, you can see a distinct difference.

What can Drew Bledsoe prove in one half of preseason Football that we haven't already seen in his 13 year career.

The offense we ran against the Cards was as vanilla as it gets.........

I agree alot would have to happen for any of these young QBs to challenge Bledsoe, but it can happen. If the lights come on for either Romo or Henson in practice and Bledsoe doesn't play well then its very possible.

Earning Parcells trust doesn't start on Sunday. It starts in practice. Henson and Romo failed to earn Bills trust last year in the off-season.......thats why he didn't give them more chances during the regular season when Vinny's arm went dead in November.

Yes he is.......after the whistle and before the snap....off the field etc, but between the whistle he doesn't look comfortable IMHO. He looks like he's thinking too hard, trying to be too perfect........very similar to his days on the diamond. He always appeared to be trying to out think the pitcher instead of just reacting and giving in to his natural instincts or abilities. I think he just needs to let go. Sometimes it just good to swing or just let it fly.

Chad was a very emotional player on the field.

I didn't think he was insecure. I think he felt entitled and couldn't figure out why Parcells wasn't sniffing his jock like every other Coach in his past had done. He'd never been in a QB competition as compared to Carter who had beaten out every QB he faced from High School in Dekalb to Georgia to Dallas until the day he was cut.

He never rose to the challenge. It appears his experience with Parcells has made him a better player because he nailed down the backup job behind Grossman by not whining, but playing better than the other QBs on the roster.

His next step is to show he can hold off a young QB and an older veteran. Chances are I think Chad will learn from his experiences.

This is very good. Romo will be the solid backup after you see Henson perform. He just will never be an NFL starter.

This is a great opportunity for Henson. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. If Parcells is going to give him the 1st team, then he's going to ask him to do some advanced stuff.

It has nothing to do with proving anything. It has to do with getting him reps to develop chemistry. Shockingly enough, it was Coach Parcells himself that said his signing was wonderful because he was already familiar with much of the terminology.

Believe me, I have heard enough of the "Drew wants to prove the Bills wrong" hyperbole and I just laugh.

I agree it's a good sign. Now Drew has to make the best of it.

I think he will. And if he doesn't?

Oh well. It is not like we have not spent higher picks on QBs that busted.

To Coach Parcells? We are talking death here.

And, even though many of the layman reports from camp are saying this player looked good, that player looked bad, Coach Parcells is still concerned. That means the trust has not evaporated.

I think the trust mist has been burned off many new players. It is off Ware, Burnett and even Pettitti. But not the QBs.

Why?

I hate to say this, but I don't think he has a clue how to evaluate them.

But he does have an analytical part to him. That is good. Once he gets a coach who can cultivate that, he will be okay. He is not an idiot.

The bad thing is that we don't really have a Norv Turner on this staff that can develop that relationship. Never underestimate what a good QB coach can do. This is where I hope Jerry Jones steps in.

We spent years of payroll to develop kickers. I would dump David Lee next week and hire the best QB coach I could find.

We have an investment. Protect it. Do what you can to cultivate it. Do not let it languish under hot lights.

I think Chad was, and still is, a very arrogant child who had a hard time grasping what things he could and could not do.

I don't know much about his background, but you are right, he does seem like he was given things.

I know it's a national televised but do you really think Parcells will show all that much?

It would be nice to see a couple of slants and mabe a few deep throws over the middle. Give Henson a chance to show off his arm.
