He can go to NFLEurope and smash all single season passing records. He can win the Giblet cup for Rhein. This is his chance to solidify himself as best player ever allocated to NFLe.

This is still Professional athletes he's playing aginst. If he he make an impact and dominate over there this will go a long way towards defining his career. He could be a pioneer ala Kurt Warner and take it to bigger stage.

Stay tuned!

I would love to see Henson follow in Delholmmes shoes. That would be great but he should've been sent there last year, not this year IMO.

He could very well do all that. Though I'm not so sure you personally aren't hoping that he'll fall flat on his face based on your posts over the past year. I am not sold on either Henson or Romo at this point. But that is because they have not had the opportunity to show what they can not do... But from the interview Henson did just after being allocated to NFLE, he does sound like he is embracing the shot to show what he feels he can do.

He can do one of two things for his career.

1) He can go over to Euro and be a Chad Hutchinson tackling dummy, just like he was in the NFL.

2) Or he can redefine his value, and perform at a very high level.

If the latter is true, and he can somehow remenice his days at Michigan, and play with a fury and commitment that he showed in his youth, than he will earn another shot with this franchise.

Otherwise..... go join you buddy Hutch, and get used to saying ... "would you like fries with that?"

If Henson plays like he did in college and sets records in europe, believe me when BP hangs them up this year, he will be are starter in 2007 thanks to Mr. Jones.

i understand that they wanted to keep him here last year to work on, among other things, his mechanics, his understanding of this offense, his acceptance of where his place was on this team, and indoctrinating him in the Parcells method of teaching. its a lot to swallow even over two seasons. but now apparently its time for him to show on the field that he has learned his lessons well. if he has, we may be on to something - if he hasn't we will probably move on to something else.
i wish him the best of luck, and i still recall the nice passes he threw when he played in relief, prior to his thanksgiving day start. i would definitely love to see the light bulb come on for him over there...

and Henson should drop to his knees and thank BP for not letting Jerry ruin him by playing him too early. If Henson has any sort of career, he will owe Bill big time.

Much needed game playing experience.

Will probably set him back in 2006 with wear and tear but may set him up in 2007 when the opportunity opens up if Bledsoe retires.

Either way - it's also an audition for other NFL teams if Dallas goes Romo long....... I believe it starts up soon in Europe.

Winning the Giblet cup would go a long way to raise his confidence also.

Yeah, Thanks Bill for taking me out after the first half of my first start. Oh and thanks for never letting me sniff the field again after that. Yeah, and thanks for making me change my throwing mechanics....then make me change back. Oh, and thanks for sending me to Europe where a bunch of wannabe practice squad players will be in charge of protecting my backside, frontside, and right up the middle. Jeeez, I really owe a lot to Bill. :D

This is definitely a key offseason for Henson. He has to show A LOT in my opinion to even stay on this roster in 06'. Especially since he will be expect to put up big numbers in the NFL's 'farm league', and Romo will be fighting neck and neck in preseason again for the back up job.

The biggest things going against Henson right now is:

1) Trying to live up to the ridiculous hype when he was drafted into the NFL leaving baseball behind.

2) Playing behind another QB named Drew who is SIGNIFICANTLY better athlete than him.

If anything a season in Europe combined with watching Bledstud do his thing again should make this young prospect more confident and polished if he's still on the roster in 06'.

This is debatable. Henson moves much better than Bledsoe, and probably can throw it about as hard as him too. He also was able to succeed at two sports at the collegiate level.

Maybe he's a better QB, right now, but a significantly better athlete? I don't think so.

Considering the amount of inactivity over the last few years, setting the bar of expected level of play very high isn't fair to him. It's going to take a while before he finally gets in a groove.

I'll even go on record as saying the first couple of games he is going to look just so-so and get ripped apart in here. He may not even be playing at an acceptable level for most of us before the season is over. Which means it will be pretty bad in here with everybody jumping off his bandwagon right and left.

Regardless of how he plays, until I hear something from the brass over at Valley Ranch I'll take everything with a grain of salt.

Thais is as much a test of Henson's mental makeup. He needs to check his emotions and take charge of the offense and team. He is running out of time and hope and promise, etc.

Its time for him to do it. Clear and simple. The stage is his. He has the opportunity to have an impact over there. He can parlay the experience of winning a giblet cup or smashing records as a springboard back Stateside.

Actually he is not running out of time, he is signed for 6 more years as a Dallas Cowboys QB. Bledsoe is signed for two more years and Romo is on his last year.

In 2 years he'll be solidified as our starter and hopefully Superbowl winning QB. The others guys are just hoping we or someone else will resign them so they can continue their careers.

Unless the contracts change thats just a fact buddy...:D

I think you got that mixed up, Henson will be lucky to have a job with any NFL team if he drops a fat egg in NFL Europe.

Bledstud don't have to worry about job security on the other hand.
