Herd w/Colin Cowherd: How much does Dak Prescott miss Kellen Moore?

The Chargers are 5th in red zone TD percentage, and Austin Ekeler got hurt in week one. Dallas is 28th.

Last year the Cowboys were 1st and the Chargers were 18th. One team got better and one did not.
Wow. That’s a rough number, and probably the reason Coach Mac is working 20 hour shifts.

I don't care about the number because it didn't matter last year when our supposed number 1 offense got embarrassed by San Francisco.
Dallas will never beat SF with the current Defense built for speed and no beef up the middle. You will never beat SF when you lose the turnover battle. You will also not beat them with Aluminum and Chum Bucket at Tackle. None of these are correctable at this point in the season unless they make some big boy in season trades.

He’s actually in a better spot now.

McCarthy is asking him to do less.

Kellen wanted him to carry the team and he’s just not capable of it.

Don’t fall for pretty stats and all that other Bs.

McCarthy made the right call.

That’s because Dak sucked and stared down his WRs for easy picks and missed an open CD Lamb with that ugly pass, just like he’s doing this year. Moore capitalized more than MM does with a sucky QB,

Basic logic tells you that neither can make Dak the guy, because an OC can only do so much.

You lose Moore because he was too aggressive in his play calling, which resulted in Dak throwing picks. Well, now this lousy quarterback is still throwing picks under this dink & dunk offense.

This team is in quarterback purgatory hell.

And it sucks.
The picks he threw with Moore are like the picks he threw this year against the 49ers. He throws blindly. Nothing the OC can do for a QB that can’t go through his reads. Neither Moore nor MM can go on the field and turn his head to the other WRs down in the progression.

You're probably right in that the offense had to be modified/curtailed to your QB's physical and mental abilities. In doing so, have you lowered the ceiling of the potential of the offense in general? Also, are some warts starting to show playing this style when your not in the lead and in redzone situations. If this is the case, Mike's basically robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Tough stretch coming up so we'll see how it plays out. It's early but you can't help but wonder just a little if Cooks was the right selection for the scheme that we're running. Not dogging the guy, I like him, but I think it's fair to ponder if his body style/traits are the best fit MM's T-Coast. What do I know, I thought the same thing prior to the draft when I heard MM wanted to emphasize the run and then exited the draft with only Deuce to show for his commitment to the run.

MM's offensive approach was based on fielding a top defense, i'm not sure we have that anymore without T. Diggs (massive loss).

Losing LVE doesn't help either. The offense was supposed to be complimentary to the #1 defense in the NFL

The pass defense without Diggs has plummeted from #1 to #30. We have big problems now.

The bottom line is we don’t want to expose Dak against teams like the 9ers.

We will still beat all the crappy teams with McCarthys style that we did with Moore.

When you play a legit team in the post season you have to hide Dak somehow.

I truly believe if Dak could extend plays he’d be an elite QB but since he’s asked to be Troy Aikman you just get a middle of the pack NFL Quarterback.

This is why I’d move to Lance..

Just ask him to be conservative, take the deep shots downfield, and RUN more.

Plus the dude practiced against the 9ers a lot so he has the experience facing this defense.

And… He’s more talented than Dak.

Lance just needs to play football. Let him play.

Chargers still need speed at WR. Mike Williams is also always hurt. Cooks would be a perfect fit in LA.
I know my son being the world's biggest charger fan. Every year we have a pool on how long Mike Williams will last.
very sad. For them:)
