The number 1 criteria/priority was to find a coach that could fit into the current team leadership approach. Meaning the family is involved and able to weigh in on all decisions, including coaching type decisions, and the HC takes one side of the ball. They think they have plenty of smart people (themselves) looking over the top of the whole team.

The number 2 criteria was to try to salvage the QB they just invested in and they think ‘continuity’ is the key to that.

They also have a budget limit on coaches (they are cheap and don’t view it as worth the money which is related to number 1).

Anyway, If those are priorities the only possibilities were Moore, McCarthy or a current offensive assistant (Schott).

Sounds like they decided Moore couldn’t carry a room or be the leader. They were planning to bring McCarthy back but he wanted too much money and a longer contract.

So there you go.

Blame micah, dak, and lamb who are taking up too much of the pie!! Oh wait, these contracts have nothing to do with how they pay coaches!!!

Yeah, an outsider was never coming in........it's why they only interviewed 4 candidates ( two for Rooney compliance )
