The season is over... Do not get any illusions...it is over!!

1. Fire Wade and Garrett now. This will give the new coach a jump start on next year system.
2. Trade Barber. If Greenbay offers a 4th you snap call on that.
3. Time to think about trading or even benching Witten. He was a great Cowboy but people get old and injuries that their toll. If Marty B is the future than he needs to learn now. I like what the Partoits do in this area. They do not let feelings get in the way of good football decisions.

Bench or trade Witten???
What kind of drugs are you on sir?

The kind that Belachick takes. Fandom or feelings should not get in the way...
Witten is not getting the job done anymore. Marty B mights as well get work in now if he is truly the future...

You had me until #3, seriously? i dont even understand how you would think that is a must after todays game, dude played well especially in the blocking game.

Marty B mights as well get work in now (think in terms of Felix over Barber...you guys have no issue with that and it is the same thing)

Witten is not part of this teams future. That should be obviously clear...

Jason Witten is 28 years old, how is he "not part of this team's future"? Look at Tony Gonzalez and how well he's still playing at 34 years old.

You have a man crush on marty b or something, what in the world makes you think he has the ability to do better than WITTEN? We want felix because hes better than barber, the same definitely CANNOT be said about marty b.

How is it dumb? Me calling it as it is or you using the exception to the rule? Gonzalez is the exception to the rule. Not everyone's career plays out like his. Gonzalez is the anomaly not the rule.

Witten's course is taking him exactly where it should be...he is on the downward side of the slope...

The only thing I learned from this post Is that the OP is a poker player. Snap call lol, I agree and it was funny.

here is what we do: gut the organization.

There is NO NEED to gut the whole organization.

Where we are falling short...

1. Stupid, thoughtless penalties can be corrected by making those who commit the stupid, thoughtless penalties suffer consequences that are so great that they are forced to CONCENTRATE. Maybe that means a new coach - I don't know - but the biggest problem (by far, IMO) is the stupid, thoughtless penalties. If I was Jerry, I would probably be discreetly taking Bill Cowher out to dinner. That chin would make a choirboy out of most of these guys. I think that'd clear up 50% or more of the penalties right there.

2. Admit that we suck at evaluating offensive linemen. Here, we just need to identify the best evaluator of O-line talent on the planet and hire him. Doing what we've been doing for 10+ years and continuing to see draft pick after draft pick wash out is ridiculous.

3. Focus on creating turnovers. There is NO WAY that this is a current focus of the team. If it was, we couldn't possibly suck at it as badly as we do. How we can go game after game with so few positive turnovers baffles me.

It's no panacea, but I really think the majority of our issues are right here with these three things.

Oh, and our Special Teams suck. Like...the REALLY suck.

Only idiot gms fire their coaches in midseason...then you have to fire an interim coach too.

Who are you going to hire to coach a team in midseason that you'll want to be your coach next year? When was the last time you saw a decent coach, even from the TV booth, take an interim job? Never is my answer...know why? Because no coach wants to work for a gm/owner who just proved he'll fire a guy during the season when a bad streak is running.

Personally, our current woes are all about turnovers to me, so I don't blame Wade Phillips...right now I blame Turnover Tony...he's having a horrible stretch where his turnovers are killing us. We've won the turnover battle one game, our lone victory. In every loss, we've given the games away with turnovers. But Tony is a franchise QB, and he'll get this corrected the way he did early in his career...either this season or next, but right now, he just refuses to eat a sack or throw the ball away and let our punter and defense do their jobs...he's just on a bad streak.

However, if you do blame it all on Wade and want to fire him, you still don't fire him until he's had his run and the season is over, and even then you only fire him if you have one or more guys targeted that you think are better.

You'll get a better coach to sign in Dallas by letting Wade play out the season than you will by firing him.

Have to say I agree. I'm still pulling for Cowher if we let Wade go.
