Shilique Calhoun, DE, Michigan State (6-4, 257)

After the signal-caller and his blind side protector, defensive end is the third-most important position. Calhoun is a playmaking machine with a huge frame and rangy athletic ability

Leonard Williams, DL, USC (6-5, 290)

This monster dealt with a shoulder injury last season, making his numbers all the more impressive. He can play multiple positions up front in multiple schemes and brings a massive frame and excellent production to the defensive front. Offenses have to account for Williams at all times.

Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska (6-6, 245)T

he Huskers' pass-rusher has a great frame and size for the pro game. He needs to bulk up in order to stuff the run better on the next level but there is no reason to think that won’t happen in 2014. Gregory has rare combination of size, athletic ability and toughness -

Cedric Reed, DE, Texas (6-5, 258)

Similar to Gregory or Calhoun, Reed has a massive frame that makes NFL scouts drool. Reed, despite a lack of coaching, produced at an elite level a year ago, posting 77 tackles, 16.5 for a loss and 10 sacks opposite Jackson Jeffcoat. Now, with Charlie Strong running the ship, Reed should develop into one of the nation’s best

Benardrick McKinney, MLB, Mississippi State (6-4, 235)

His size and frame stand out when watching this Bulldog on Saturdays. His team should be one of the best in the nation and he has produced at an elite level since entering the starting lineup as freshman two seasons ago. Try 172 tackles on two bowl teams as an underclassman.

sorry but don't see Sean Lee as our answer

This team could use a huge dose of Leonard Williams. Probably top 3 to 5 pick. I could see that happening, but I dont want any "we're one player away" trade ups.

A defensive line of :
LDE: Free agent to be named later
LDT: Henry Melton
RDT: Leonard Williams
RDE: Demarcus Lawrence

....would be leaps and bounds better than anything we will field this season.

Mincey, T.McClain, and Boatright have deals that we can free up cap room by releasing them.
Spencer, Selvie, Martez Wilson, and Hayden are free agents.

I use CBSSports.com mostly to study the positional rankings. The number in front of the name is the projected draft round for the prospect. I am not really sold on any QBs coming out this year as of yet, so I do not have any listed (Hundley is atop my QB prospect list right now though). I didn't list RB (though I would love me some Malcolm Brown), TE, WR, FB, P, K, and LS as I feel we are pretty much set at these positions for the next couple of years. So with that, I focused my efforts on the entire defense and OL.

DE
1 Leonard Williams 6'5 298 USC
1 Mario Edwards Jr. 6'3 294 FSU
4-5 Cedric Reed 6'6 271 Texas

DT
1 Carl Davis 6'5 315 Iowa
3-4 Chucky Hunter 6'1 305 TCU

ILB
2 Denzel Perryman 5'11 242 the U
2 Eric Kendricks 6'0 230 UCLA

OLB
3 Jake Ryan 6'3 235 Michigan
3-4 Tony Washington 6'3 250 Oregon

CB
1-2 Josh Shaw 6'1 200 USC
4-5 Quandre Diggs 5'10 204 Texas

SS
2-3 Anthony Harris 6'1 190 Virginia

FS
2-3 Cody Prewitt 6'2 212 Ole Miss
4-5 Adrian Amos 6'0 209 Penn St.

OG
2-3 Tre' Jackson 6'4 339 FSU

No QB?
17. Cowboys: Brett Hundley QB UCLA
Tony Romo can’t play forever. Hundley here is a bargain Jerry Jones shouldn’t pass up.

That came from this site.

I don't think you want to use someone of Williams' size and skillset at the 1-tech.

Leonard Williams is going to make plays wherever you put him. If he played the 1-Tech, his length and athleticism would force teams to double him, which helps out guys like Lawrence and Melton, as well as the Linebackers.

FSU's Edwards disappointing

I had really high expectations for FSU DE Mario Edwards going into Saturday and came away a bit disappointed. He would benefit from dropping some weight. Now, he has strong hands and some power as a rusher, but I didn't see a real explosive upfield burst from him. He struggled a little bit whenever he had to change direction. He is pretty polished with his hands, though, and made a big sack when the Seminoles needed it late in the game.

I doubt it...JJ believes Romo has another 7 years in him. Good luck with that one.

I see no QB'S worth a top 5 pick

I'd wait an pick onnor Cook might be able to get him with the second pick

Thanks for the post. I'll be looking for these guys on Saturday. A top 5 pick is a possibility, a top 10 is a guarantee.
