My cat did that once when the other cat startled her. Unfortunately, one of her back feet was on my eye at the time, and I ended up with a serious black eye. Amazing how much force they can produce.

I'm sure we could come up with several quite interesting stories, but the boring truth is I was in bed and she was climbing over me back and forth trying to get me up to get her some food, just like millions of cats all over the world do every morning.
