We all know he was 0-4 in the Post Season coming into this year. He is now 1-4. Win against the Vikings, 2-4. Win the NFC Championship, 3-4. Win the Super Bowl, 4-4.

But instead of being seen as a .500 Head Coach, he would be viewed as a Super Bowl winning coach.

Odd how perceptions can change on a dime.

Another goofy fact is that he would be the 2nd oldest coach to win a SB.

...Then again lets just enjoy these games and not get ahead of ourselves with the SB talk.

I would love to see us win a Superbowl, as we all would, and I'd be very happy for Wade Phillips if it turns out that way for us. He'll never have to listen to any of that garbage that so many, including myself, have thrown at him for years.

He's a nice guy and certainly deserves to see the success.

You mean like Eli being considered a top QB after winning the Superbowl? :laugh2:

That was an always will be a complete freaking joke.

First off, Asante should have picked off the pass that went right through his hands. Then the next play he gets out of two arm-sacks, then throws up a prayer that gets caught by a freaking helmet.

He's improved since then, but the defense won that Ship, and Eli was just along for the ride. Eli is not even in the top ten of QB's.

... until next year if he loses a few games in a row. Then the howls will come again. That's the nature of the job, though.

Very true. But if he leads us to a Superbowl Championship this year you won't see me saying a bad thing about him for the remainder of his time in Dallas. I'll be happy for him and I'll be happy the team got the Championship.

Furthermore, he led the Giants to 17 points against New England.

Whoopty... freakin'... doo.

That was enough to win, amazingly, only because the Giants D played lights out against possibly the best offense in NFL history.

Romo led the Cowboys O to 20 points against New England and we lost 48-27.

How cool is it, though, that that was the last pass David Tyree ever caught as a pro? Pretty cool way to go out.

Wade just needed more opportunities because he is a very good coach. If he win a superbowl, he will go instantly from very good to great. The pundits like to gloss over Belicheat's time in Cleveland but the "genius" had his rough moments too as all coaches do.

I think Brooking said it best, it starts and ends with the players. I don't care what caliber of coach you have, if you have scrub players, it is not going to happen. Childress on the other hand is hot garbage and I think Wade will expose him this Sunday...believe.:starspin

I agree, he was kind of banged up and losing Burress didn't help his cause either.

Good observation. That would change everything. The Susan Boyle of the NFL would shock the world. :)

IMO, Belichick started his genius as an assistant for NY. Phillips never won multiple rings as an assistant.

But Wade's defenses have been just as good or better when he was a DC. It was just fate that he never coached a defense that also had a comparable offense or special team. It is not a coincidence that he won his first playoff game with this year's Cowboys team.
