Here's a thought with the pass rush or lack thereof...

It's a crazy idea but what if we tried moving Olshansky to NT and Ratliff to DE. I think this would free up Ware to get some shots at the QB.

Olshansky is bigger than Ratliff and seems to hold his ground on that side. If he plays NT he just needs to hold that middle which I think he can do and then you got Ratliff as a rusher with Ware behind him. Seems like a good idea...thoughts/pros/cons?

I would at least try it one snap and see how it plays out...I'm sure an opposing team would **** a brick seeing Rat and Ware on one side.

We should have tried it preseason just to see what it could do. And thanks for providing your insighful commentary.

Alot of people have suggested this....personally I would go for it because Olshansky looks like a slow pile of blob out there. He doesnt go forward or back, He just sits there.

Isn't that what he's supposed to do, control the LOS, keep guys from going to the second level and not create lanes?

The problem is guys that as long as teams max protect, alignment changes are not going to do jack. If teams are going to keep 8 guys in to block, our pass rush is going to be non existient.

The problem is our secondary sucks so bad that the 4 or 5 guys back there cant cover 3 freaking recivers. How only 3 recievers go out for a pass and at least 1 of them is wide open is freaking amazing!!!

How freaking difficult can if be for 5 guys on the nickle defense to guard 3 WR???

If you call what he does control the LOS then I guess...IMo a big slow lard like Him should be eating up the middle like jason Furgeson. let th playmakers make plays.

Just give it a try nothing wrong with that...

Didn't Ratliff say that he didn't want to move to DE?

What we need to do, is to move our players around more pre snap and actually try to confuse someone. We basically stay in the defense that's called on the sidelines and never make any on field audibles/adjustments.
