Name 1 or even 2 of the cuts that's a difference maker.
Tell me Waters didn't improve the RG spot and the lines demenor. Tell me how Donald and Martin are bad and or non fits.
I'll wait
I don't have a problem with the cuts, if need be, even though you try to restructure Ware, but if not, I'm ok with it. Orton proved to be best option as a back up, keep him if you can.
Bringing back Waters, just a progress stopper at this point IMO. The OL played well after his injury. Yes, played better with him, but a year older, I'll pass at this point. Wait until the season like last year to see.
Do not let Dez and Tyron play it out, it's not being a hold out type or not, it's about not letting them become FA's. Extend them before their contracts run out. That can happen during the season if need be.
I have no problem drafting Donald, or even Martin. But only trade down in the 1st round, pick up a 2nd or 3rd. Do not trade down any lower rounds. We need talent and starters or future starters.
since this is supposedly a deep draft. You can get those in the 1st 3 rounds easily. DL, DL, LB, OG or S if a trade down and get an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick.
Byrd as a FA, will cost too much, stay with what we have, so hence, keeping Johnson, Byrd, is he a difference maker? Could be, but to me not as much as using top $$$ at this point. But fix the DL, and that will make the bigger difference, not a top $$$ FA.
The thing is with cutting Ware, and if Hatcher and Spencer do not return either. Then you need to rebuild the entire DL. Do you really want to do this after seeing last years debacle. With back ups and the draft. So keep Ware, if you can, both Hatcher and Spencer, if it can be worked out at a decent cap price, and if only for a year or 2.
Draft 2 DL, Then you have Ware, Spencer, Hatcher, Crawford, Bass, Hayden, Selvie, then possibly Donald, and maybe draft Jeffcoat or Sam in the 3rd.
Hope you didn't wait too long...
