And the team made some adjustments to their run D later in the season, making it good by the playoffs. SF is one of the best running teams in the league and they just couldn’t do much on the ground against Dallas.

The run D no longer is really a concern.

One of those adjustments is a free agent, so there's a little bit of a concern. I'd prefer to upgrade Hankins, but just getting him back would be a decent move to keep that run D from being a concern again.

There have been eight first-round backs taken since then, though.

Since 2018 only 1 has been selected in top 23 picks of draft (Barkley)

The new NFL view on backs:
-Don't draft in top 20.
-Don't sign them to 2nd contract unless cheap, short contract
-Always plan on a rotation, two or more
