of the season.

First, we've somehow got to start out better on offense during the 1st half.

Second, penalties will hurt us against good teams. And it did today. It negated at least 1 if not 2 drives.

Against the Pats, our Defense was just out on the field too long. The number of plays run by the Pats in the 1st half vs. the number we ran was a huge differential, as was the time of possession.

You could see that by the 4th quarter, the defense was just getting worn out.

I'm not sure why we start so slowly on offense, but we've got to jump start the offense earlier.

That said, and I've said this before, once we get T Glenn back on offense, we'll have a guy who can legitimately stretch the defense. That will really help TO, the running game, etc.

Also, once we get A Henry back, I think our Secondary will look a lot better. And we'll improve our depth on the DL with Tank.

I think Crayton is a wonderful 3rd down receiver, but we need speed speed speed on that other side. We can get away with playing Nate Jones and Reeves (who I thought had a solid game outside of not tackling the guy after being burned) but against power-house teams, you must have all players on deck.

Agreed.

You can't cover Glenn one on one with his speed. He's just too quick and fast.

I think Crayton is a tremendous 3rd WR, but with TO, Glenn, and Crayton and Witten, our offense just becomes dynamic.

I really think, however, our slow start this time around was disasterous for our defense. You could see by the 4th the guys were just tired.

Anyway, I'm glad Romo played a solid game for his first game vs. Bellicheck.

For as good as our offense is, its hard to imagine that we have not scored a TD in the first quarter. That is pretty crazy.

Not scoring in the first is on Garret and Romo. He has GOT to do better starting games- maybe stick with short passes early on or something. And Garrett needs to stop admiring himself and start really working hard on an entire game plan with options for different situations. I do not think he is doing that- his flexibility seems lacking.

I think here are a lot of positives to come out of a loss like this.

First, the Cowboys will get a chance for revenge, and there won't be any pulling Romo in the fourth quarter.

Second, Reeves played a pretty good game overall. I think he'll develop into a solid CB.

Third, Nate Jones looked good in the nickel. Both he and Reeves will continue to develop.

Fourth, the bad penalties will even out, and Phillips should send a game film to NFL Hdqtrs. Fitzgerald for the Cards had a very similar pass to T.O.s being forced out of bounds, and was given the completion. Larry's trailing foot wasn't even close to the line.

Fifth, Henry will return, and Johnson will have a bigger impact than Remi.

Lastly, with New England rubbing the Cowboys' collective noses in the defeat, Dallas will certainly gain some focus for the rest of the game.
