On Sportscenter's Cold Hard Facts, Herm Edwards picked the Cowboys beating out the Eagles for the division race.

The way he said it was energizing. I recommend watching it when you get a chance. I have a great feeling about this season.

Was he the guy who said they didn't have the personnel to run the Tampa 2 just a couple of months ago?

Think that was Dungy, but it might have been Herm.
Either way, Herm's got connections with Dallas on defense. It's very possible his opinion is informed by discussions or texts he's had with Marinelli and Co. His positivity might be a good indication that the Dallas defensive coaches like what they see in camp...

So much comes down to health.
If that defesne can stay at least somewhat healthy they could have a giant turnaround.
  • Jay Ratliff is made to play in the 4-3.
  • Hatcher has looked great.
  • Ware is even more explosve coming out of the 3 pt stance--he loves it.
  • Spencer, if healthy, has huge potential too.
  • The safties will clearly be better
  • Mo should be better in his decopnd year
  • And the linebacking group that missed so much of last year is looking amazing
I worry some about stopping the run, but no doubt this group is going to create more turnovers and improve overall.

I'm still skeptical on this. Every year we make a move with the safeties and see no improvement. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the guys we have and I think they'll be better. But I'll wait to see it.

Also, I think our down lineman are great for rushing the passer--probably among the best in the league, but could be gashed easily by the run. Hopefully the LBers behind them can help out with that.

It would certainly help to not lose 5 starters on defense this year.

Yup, this team has the goods to be very, very competitive. But health is always the X factor. You would hope we wouldn't see a repeat of last year, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but that's all it is, hope. So far, I've got the Eagles dealing with the worst luck so far, losing Maclin and now this Cooper fiasco. Don't think the Eagles are going to be much this year. In fact, I have them finishing dead last.

We're not only gonna win the division, but we're gonna do it by at least 2 games. This year the final game of the regular season will be irrelevant

I look at the first four games and I see that if Dallas can get off to a fast start such as 4-0 or 3-1 by the Denver game, Dallas could be sitting pretty for the rest of the season provided Dallas stay healthy.

The Skins and Eagles will already be eliminated by the last week.
