Not really glowing reviews for any of them--and Edwards usually is a decent evaluator at this particular position.

I tend to think the class is deep for guys that can contribute but maybe no elite playmakers.
I also think he should have included Phillip Thomas and Rambo. :)

Jefferson is still my favourite. I've read lots of not-so-great reviews on him, but whenever I saw him play, he was all over the place.

It sounds like Jefferson is going in the fourth. He is an absolute steal at that draft position.

Really hard to say where these guys will go--especially after the 1st round. Jefferson culd end up going in the mid-late 2nd for all we know.

I agree, if he goes in the 4th it'd be decent value, assuming he was what a team was looking for. That 4.75 forty is a bit alarming though. And with the Cowboys maybe not seeking a guy who excels in the box better than outside, TJ is a bit of a mystery.

I haven't looked at Mayock's safety rankings, but I think he tends to nail this posisiton better than almost any other. I'll go check it out.

Okay, here's Mayock's latest top 5.

  1. Kenny Vaccaro
  2. Matt Elam
  3. Jonathan Cyprien
  4. Eric Reid
  5. Shamarko Thomas

I have a feeling that If we do not take Vacarro (SP?) at 18. We might get Reid at #47.

Broaddus seemed to indicate that the cowboys Reid (don't know if true) but it would make sense as I imagine they probably think that Vacarro, Cyprien and Elam will be gone by that second round pick so they target Reid.

Of course all speculation on my part and they may have completely different scenarios planned out and want nothing to do with Reid.

I've been thinking the same thing, as well.

Knowing how much they scouted and love Claiborne, leads me to believe they're also interested in Reid. Since the tape they watched of Claiborne was also Reid's best season.

He was a DB in the NFL. I'm sure that this gives him a little insight into the position.

Jefferson is a good all-around safety but his lack of coverage skills limit his upside, IMO.
I think he is an r4 guy.

I would be shocked if Jefferson isn't on average a lot faster than that. He had elite athleticism coming out of high school.

Sometimes I take the athleticism numbers with a grain of salt.

If the guy plays fast, he's fast enough for me.

Church is a great example.
