This should be making its' way to 103.3 any minute now, so may as well ask the question.

DISCLAIMER - This is not my endorsement of Herm Edwards. Just an observation and hypothetically asking the question of what is the general thought here.

Herm was on with Jody McDonald and Brandon Tierney yesterday here in NY to talk about a myriad of NFL topics, mostly Braylon Edwards. Eventually the conversation turned to Herm getting back into coaching and he was asked what job appealed to him. The expected answer was something PC, talking about maybe a job close to his home in California, or possibly with someone he's worked with before in the past.

After some hesitation, he came right out and said he'd love to coach the Cowboys. He sees the talent here, he sees the mistakes that are constantly made and he really believes he has what it takes to correct such problems.

All this being said, Herm is NOT the smartest coach in the league's history. His problems with managing the clock are well documented, and other aspects of his gameday planning leave something to be desired.

However, one thing that can never be questioned about a Herm Edwards team is discipline and motivation. Herm's players will run through walls for him, and he does not accept screwups without accountability. He has made examples of players in the past, even some of his favorites.

So the question I ask, what is your take on someone like Herm running this team?

And yes, I know it will likely never happen.

The snippet is here at the 17:00 mark.

Herm has the "I'm a demanding, fire-breathing head coach" sideline demeanor that everyone wants.

But uh no...he's not the man for the job.

Herm stinks. No way I want him coaching the Cowboys. He's failed wherever he's gone as a head coach.

Every team Herm coaches takes a nose dive. I seriously doubt he ever is a HC in the NFL again.

Herm is 54 and 73 as a HC I don't think his teams were all that disciplined

Herm Edwards definitely coached teams that had low penalties, but he's the wrong guy for the job.

now way Herm comes here, or should. He is horrible. I told my KC friends they would hate him after one year. Welp, was right.

besides, isn't he an Ex-Eagle???

Theirs your answer

No Thanks!

Bill cowher, maybe Brian Billick. That's about it.
Unless Jimmy can come back.

Love his passion but that passion blinds him into some bad coaching mistakes / decisions on game day.

I don't think Herm is a bad head coach, but even if we were to make a change, I don't think he's what this team needs.

Herm might work as some Pete Carroll/Mack Brown college coach making rah-rah speeches and holding fundraising dinners with alumni to shake hands and kiss babies, but he'll never be a head coach in the NFL again.

I'll never understand all the allure with Bill Cowher. It's not like it didn't take him 15 years to win a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh or anything.

Give me someone young and new.

Herm HATES the cowboys. Make no mistake about it. We always speculate which analyst hates our team, well Herm pretty much has come out and said it on 1st and 10 with ol' Skip Bayless... twice.

I like him on TV. I hope he stays away from the sidelines. He's too entertaining.

Once again, sideline appearance and vague terms like "accountability" trump results on the field.

Gotta love it.

Do I really gotta?

Call Wade...........Done.

BTW, Herm. I think Jerry's done over-paying for mediocrity. For awhile anyways.
