He's Dancing and I'm fuming

Did I miss the memo?
Was there supposed to be a game the other night in between the mentions of Dancing With the Stars and Emmitt Smith and ludicrous images of Emmitt dancing?
And also, was there an overriding need to mention freaking Tiki Barber's name like a hundred times with the word "retirement"?
Show me the game Joe, Korny, Mike and Hank Jr.!
What has happend to football? Is it now a backdrop to whatever issue an athlete or has-been athlete or singer has?
Well, that is my rant.:laugh2:
Anybody else feel TV entertainment has gotten out of hand?
Oh! Last week it was the brain-dead Charles Barkley analyzing football. Football!
Oh, the pain. I weep for the future.

It was very annoying. ABC can show their damn promo's during commercials, but even that isnt good enough any more.

Its not just football, either. Tonight in the World Series during the bottom of the 5th, they cut to the one d-bag reporter they have in the outfield bleachers talking to an 11 year old kid about how much he loves tacos for some absurd Taco Bell promotion.

Yeah the Tiki tribute was annoying. I know he is a great back, but what has he really done in the NFL?!! Did the Giants ride him to the Super Bowl? He is leaving the game on his own terms, good for him. But lets not make this guy the second coming of Jim Brown!!

And guys, it does not help that ESPN has one of the worst all-time announcing teams of all time. Self-promoter Theisman, clueless and awkward Kornheiser and clueless and suckup Tirico. Wow, makes me pine for Dennis Miller ... No. Wait. No one is worse than Miller. Sorry. Got carried away.
ESPN better get back to football or they'll see their audience dwindle. You won't always have the Boys and the Giants to jack up the ratings, man.

I disagree about the dancing, I think he's a heck of a dancer for not ever ever dancing before. And there's a difference between dancing on a floor with no threat of a Roy Williams type breaking your jaws while you're trying to move.

Emmitt actually took ballroom dancing back in the day when he was a relative unknown so he can dance. However, I still thought that segment was extremely rainbowlike.

Sorry but you're wrong. This kind of stuff appeals to the casual fan. Heck there's people that actually watch the commericials instead of muting them or getting a beer.

Yeah, the bow was perplexing.
Strange that Parcells didn't slap him silly, like Jimma Johnson would have done.
Okay, on a tangerine now . . .
That was an incredible shot of T.O. mouthing off and enjoying himself behind Parcells while Parcells raised his face to the heavens, obviously irritated. Wonder if BP's body language was in regards to T.O. or something on the field.
As to ratings not dwindling, wait until you get a Tennessee vs. Browns one of these days and those scrub announcers will have to talk real football to keep their night's audience. Football fans won't put up with this kinda of Showbiz Tonight crap if the teams are garden variety. The Giants have a huge TV following and the Boys have a huge countrywide following. Monday night's game was an anomaly.
