Wouldn't you think that that play should have been ran similar to Keyshawn's TD pass in the 1st half where Bledsoe pump faked to Glenn in order to freeze Champ Bailey?

Here's the play by play from NFL.com on the drive...

Dallas Cowboys at 04:32
1-10-DAL12 (4:32) D.Bledsoe pass to K.Johnson to DAL 24 for 12 yards (Da.Williams). Pass complete on curl left sideline.
1-10-DAL24 (3:53) J.Jones up the middle to DAL 25 for 1 yard (DJ.Williams).
2-9-DAL25 (3:16) D.Bledsoe pass incomplete to K.Johnson (D.Foxworth). Pass thrown incomplete left side at the Dallas 32.
3-9-DAL25 (3:12) D.Bledsoe pass to J.Witten to DAL 43 for 18 yards (C.Bailey). Pass complete middle. The catch by Witten is his 9th of the day, which ties a career high.
1-10-DAL43 (2:32) D.Bledsoe pass to K.Johnson ran ob at DEN 49 for 8 yards.
2-2-DEN49 (2:25) J.Jones up the middle to DEN 48 for 1 yard (D.Veal).
3-1-DEN48 (2:00) D.Bledsoe pass incomplete to T.Glenn. Quick out left end; D. Williams closest defender.
4-1-DEN48 (1:57) M.McBriar punts 48 yards to end zone, Center-L.Ladouceur, Touchback.

I know it was thrown to the left side instead of the right, but I thought another pump fake should have been in the cards... Pump fake to Glenn, then throw it up the sideline after the defender bites, going up the sideline might have resulted in a TD, or at least a sizeable gain in field position. Plus, if they are talking about DJ Williams being the closest defender, a pump fake SURELY would have netted us more yards, especially if the safety was playing the other side, which I didn't happen to see. Furthermore, if all the other receivers were on the other side, we might have had an advantage. Hell, throw in a flea flicker about that time if you think you can block for it.

:banghead:

I'm a pretty good offensive coordinator after the fact I guess.

dont know, Denver was showing max run blitz, which wouldve also gotten to Bledsoe very quickly.........

as Drew said, gotta find a receiver to make teams pay for max blitz paks--------glenn not big enough, key not fast enough......

........seems like we never pop a rb thru a goal line / max run def defensive package anymore............ala tony doresetts 99 yd run vrs. Vice-queens back in the day

Yeah, I'm so tired of never getting past that last line of defense on running plays... Barber has done it a time or two against poor run defenses, but JJo hasn't done it yet... Remember the Eagle game at home earlier, JJo got stopped several times by that last lise of defense in the 1st half, he would have had 150 yards and a TD or two by halftime if he broke through it all...

Also, I dont' think it's a matter of Glenn not being big enough, he's usually got a safety sitting over the top on his side. BUUUT, when he does get past the secondary, Bledsoe is usually out of time.

All signs point to a major OL upgrade this off-season. Like the DL this past spring.
